Personal perspective. I do like the Big Game at Christmas but
missed the Summer KO last year so wasn’t sure whether I’d enjoy
it. Overall it worked for me. I thought the stadium was a bit
empty so the atmosphere was flat for periods but what sounded
like a pretty big Bath contingent certainly made their presence
felt which was good. My wife had cider which she said was good.
I had a pint of Twickenham ale which was hardly drinkable. Our
seats in the east stand were great - close to halfway in the
lower tier so great view of the action. The rugby was
entertaining (shame about the result). The Kaiser Chiefs were
good. Didn’t stay for Massoake. But if I was asked to choose
between this and Stoop for an important end of season home game
I would choose the Stoop every time.

First Quins game I have been to for a while - Stoop or HQ.
Band? No, I don't need or want a band. So, I am in a minority?
Shrug. I still don't want a band, it just makes me less likely
to go next time.
Noisy. Why does everyone on the PA have to shout?
Seat in the North Middle. Long way from the action unless it's
right down my end.
Everything overpriced. I took a bacon sandwich with me. Very
nice, thank you.
Will I go again? HQ - probably not. Stoop - probably.

It starts with the fact most of you are missing the point of the
event. Was it to win? Would have been nice, but that's not it!
To give those who generally attend The Stoop a good day out?
Well, the club does its best, but that's not it. To make a
shedload of money of 40,000 people for tickets? All money is
more than welcome, but that's not it.To showcase our rugby,
especially our brand of rugby, in front of a large number of
neutral spectators who don't currently go to The Stoop but
certainly could geographically? That, for me, is the point of
the exercise. And we provided that in spades. Lovely running
rugby from both sides, (thanks Bath). A bucketful of tries. A
lead that changed over and over. .
You doubt me? How many Mexican bloody waves did we have to
endure?

I agree DOK.
Although we lost, one of our crowd said that he is going to try
for a session ticket for next season.
Another of our crowd is also considering it.
Winning isn't everything.
Watching some great tries being scored (by both sides) makes it
a good event. Add to this the extra stuff - example the bands
etc, and it looks appealing.
If it was just about winning, then I wouldn't be a member at
Richmond.
If you just want 80 minutes of rugby with no razzamataz,
consider getting a membership at London Scottish. You get to
watch 6 or so Quins players every week and it costs
significantly less.
But, I think that after a couple of seasons of watching them,
you may remember why you enjoy supporting Quins.

Each to their own but I cannot get my head around this. Winning
might not be everything but it’s the most important thing. I
accept we play these showcase games to bring money in but all
yesterday did is show the neutral that Bath play good rugby as
well - and are better at it. Performance first, experience
second in my book.

Winning isn't everything, but trying to win is arguably
everything. I'm sure the team is "trying" to win every time they
play but I don't think they put as much effort into trying as
the should do on too many occasions.
The team seem to have lost the will to do what's required when
they don't have the ball.
I won't say I think it's an easy fix but I think it's an issue
of mentality rather than of talent.

I think things have become too comfortable, and I think most
take their position in the team for granted. There isn’t enough
proper quality where it counts to keep certain squad members on
their toes, as the drop off in quality between first XV and
their replacement is almost championship level (DC for Lewis as
an example). Baxter needs another season as a bit soft for a lad
of his size. Backrow we haven’t got a proper 6 which dosent
help.
I don’t expect any major changes. Matson and the coaching set up
have been here long enough now and I don’t see a game plan or
what they are trying to achieve, other than trying to live off
the back of the “entertainers” type vibe, which is fine, but we
haven’t got a defence to back to up.

I always love the big game / BSKO and look forward to a day out
travelling up from the south coast , a group of 10 of us went
with 3 of the group having never been to a rugby match before ,
the 3 are now sold on rugby and will be returning as Quins fans
next season. It was just unfortunate that the 2 games were so
close to each and hopefully back to normal next year. Quins have
just got 3 new fans and what a great day out apart from the
result.

We are currently selling out games at the Stoop, so very little
if any ticket availability
I get these games bring in new support , but at what cost?
Wasn’t that long ago it was said you need 50k to break even then
after that it’s profit, great and we need the money, if that’s
still the case the club lost money

Well between us our group have 65 years as season ticket holders
so that’s not the case for us, it’s both. But we brought a load
of people who would otherwise not have thought to go to a quins
match.
22 of us with 9 kids aged between 5 and 11.
Rugby can’t sell any more tickets to older men who already like
rugby so it’s got to try something.
