Is it correct that we cannot make the play offs if Saints beat
Falcons tonight?

Yes
Quins are on 46 points (8 wins). Saints are on 53 (10 wins).
I'd therefore say that the only hope is that Saints do no better
than 3 points tonight (a TBP draw). They would then at best be
on 56 with a points difference of -52. If Quins then win both
games with TBPs, Quins are on 56 with 10 wins and a positive
points difference.

Brilliant. Thanks for having the facts to hand. It's not
inconceivable that Newcastle could beat Saints in the North
East.

Correct I expect Saints to put us out of our misery tonight.
If not then, assuming we win with a tbp and Irish don't get a
tbp win on Sunday, it goes to the final weekend I think
Chances of us finishing above both Saints and Irish is basically
0. In some ways I'd rather it was sorted tonight, as it would be
very frustrating for results to go our way and then not to get
the job done at Tigers

If Irish get a TBP win v Sarries, they’ll be on 56 with 10 wins
so catchable next week.
However, their points difference is 79. It would take quite some
capitulation from them at home to Chiefs.

The chance of us beating Bristol in a home semi when we were
28-0 down was also basically 0, of course.

I think we need a bit of a howling gale and torrential rain to
develop at Kingston Park not looking good for us/Falcons.
