If I said this I’d be chastised but it’s so true. To me as soon
as the saints won I knew we wouldn’t bother caring (must like
the season) and I was right.
Matson needs a masterclass for Tigers otherwise as far as I’m
concerned I won’t bat an eyelid if we replace him and the entire
coaching team as I think we need a freshen up

Bit of a dud today wasn't it. Felt like an exhibition match at
times. A mixture of two teams with little to play for and a half
full Twickers.
On the plus side, Marcus and Murley were both excellent, and our
back row put in a pretty decent showing. And the Pride was
pretty tasty.
In the minus column, we've just been turned over by a very
average Bath side. We played well in patches but conceded soft
tries.
Gjaltema isn't good enough at this level. Roll on Porter for
next season.

That was frustrating but all too common in what has been a bit
of a stinking defensive season. Too many occasions where defence
just seemed broadly optional. Lost count of how many times we
lost the ball in contact too. Gjaltema didn’t have a game that
made me think he’ll push on much further.
Some of the attacking play was superb at times it has to be
said, Riley looks a real carrying threat and has pretty decent
hands for a front row.
Bit too Quins of old today overall. It has been one of those
seasons where at times you just think that standards have
slipped a bit and things look a bit meh. Things just seem a bit
too comfortable again.

I'd like to see our 'red zone' efficiency today. I estimate they
scored about 80% of the time they were in our 22 and we were
probably about 50%. I think today is the closest I've been to
spouting off about how poor a season it's been in defence.
Gjaltema was incredibly poor and slow and why he felt he needed
to box kick into the middle of the pitch when we were 2 men
down, that's just poor.
Still, secure 1 point up at Tigers and we are guaranteed
Champions Cup, that has to be the target now.

Had my head in my hands. A complete numbskull moment.

Monte criticised me for saying Lewis was poor..awaiting the same
response. Ultimately everything I’ve said all over the season
has been said today, so maybe I’ll get some leeway.

Everything you've ever said has been said before. 😁

Sitting here smoking a cigar.
In all seriousness, today exposed how much of a two Bob team we
were. You couldn’t blame the ref or any official for the bulk of
their tries. Matson and the coaching staff have become stale,
this season has shown that. We can’t blame injuries…just need to
accept, maybe, just maybe what we have in place isn’t right.

It is quite possible to say the ref is poor and yet not say it
is his fault that Quins lost. Those two do not have to go hand
in hand.

It’s unfair to single out Matson. He’s had a huge impact at the
club - he’s taken a Premiership winning team and turned them
into a team competing to avoid the bottom of the table.
That takes talent
