Defence is 90% about effort. The fact that ours is appalling
says everything about the desire in that squad. Like fancy
rugby but aren’t really bothered about the hard stuff.

Game summed up Quins season. Started off well, then got wobbly
in the middle. End was unspeakably bad.

We can’t blame coaches for the defence. The lack of balls to
get off the floor, make a tackle and hit hard comes from
players. The mindset to stay in the line and keep connected is
the players. The desire not to get completely splintered at
every attacking maul is about attitude in the players. We are
back to our fancy Dan mode of yesteryear.

Feel like this result accurately sums up the season. Some bright
points in attack, but not consistent enough. Defence either
solid or revolving door if they break the first tackle.
Hoping mindset today was due to not being able to get top 4
rather than if it had been a competitive match

I mostly agree but conceding in the 3rd minute isn’t exactly the
hallmark of starting well

I am trying to avoid a Jack Nowell moment.
Dickson was correct in what he did call (though both yellows
were very strict), but his refusal to penalise Bath for playing
the 9 and for entry to the ruck that was at time parallel to the
try line was infuriating.

I think the effort and enthusiasm from players was dreadful
whether you want to blame the coaches or Laurie Dalrymple for
flogging supporters and players to death I don’t care. We were
just poor.

Some of it was bad defence, but to give one example the
penultimate try happened because the previous ruck was cleared
out by a Bath Ayer entering at a 45 degree angle.
Bath entered from the side at about 2/3 of the rucks and I can't
remember a single penalty for it. A ref has to ref both sides,
or you don't have a fair game.
