That's an interesting one ArchQuin. The subject in the pub on
Sunday. With salary caps, clubs cutting their cloth accordingly;
would you sacrifice Cadan, Lukey N & Finn B to keep Marcus,
Dommers and Andre? We were split at the start, 2 Yes, 2 No and
the other 2 ambivalent. At the end it was 4 No and 2 Yes.
You can obviously substitute who you drop out to help your own
specific argument.
But Andre, 5 more years, please

Cadan is one of those players that I think we should doo all we
can to keep hold of.

Otherwise we'd be in the doo-doo?

Take those 3 out and our performance would drop massively. I
think we could still compete without the other 3 but would hate
to see Murley leave

I know it's all subjective but would love to see your group's
workings arriving at that conclusion. Smith, Dombrandt,
Esterhuizen are first names on the sheet and absolutely crucial
players - absolute must-keeps. Murley, Northmore, Baxter - I
hope and expect we will do our utmost to keep them too, but for
the sake of this particular binary argument, it's a no-brainer
in my mind that you'd keep Smith, Dommers, Andre.

Looking at this in another way, as good as Murley, Northmore and
Baxter are (/could be Baxter is far from the finished article,
imo), how many other clubs would be making a song and dance
about signing them? Maybe for Murley.
Any of Dombrandt, Smith or Andre would be a headline signing for
any other club.
