Sounds like Olly had no complaints.

How does a £10k fine compare with some of Joe Marler’s
misdemeanours?

Don't know what's the problem with Karl's decision.
You're not allowed to play the ball when not on your feet or the
player when they are laying on the ground and, that's exactly
what happened. The fact it's not always reffed that way is not
Karl's fault in this instance.

I really don't understand the objections to Karl as a ref. I've
watched him pretty closely over the years and (when I can hear
him on reflink) he's generally technically sound in his calls
and explains them clearly. He's also not afraid to make big
calls against the home side (and against some of the "big"
sides, who are used to getting away with stuff - which may be
why their fans don't like him).
I think he could improve his game management, mostly calibrating
what he lets go vs what he enforces - but he definitely doesn't
deserve the gried he gets from fans.

As I understand it, the referees are under guidance to let the
game flow as much as they can which is why maybe we are getting
a number of TMO interventions subsequent to an incident. I also
believe there is a limit on the number of phases after which no
review is possible?

Listened to the RUW podcast and I had forgotten that it was
Dicko who was reffing the game against Brizz when Andre was
stripped on the floor after he was tap tackled. Should have been
a penalty try but absolutely nothing given. Danny suggested that
Karl may have been guided by the powers as to future similar
incidents, maybe, allegedly, perhaps that’s why he made the
decision last weekend. Technically the correct one.
