When you posted we had had zero attacking ball. The commentators
made a really big deal out of how long it was before Smith was
able to make a pass.
We just got munched by a superb defence who also gave a great
attack to go with it. Not happy with the accuracy as that's an
ongoing issue this season, and at times we lacked leadership.
Northmore wasn't an issue.

I doubt they'd have wanted it this close.

It’s all a bit too late to score a few tries, it’s great we
scored , but really it looks like Collier has got another injury
, why carry on playing a game you can’t win and risk players……….
Stormers look the part and play like a great team good luck to
them in the next rounds.

It's been an enjoyable game to watch, and whilst its a loss it
wasn't as bad as Bristol at home or Saints away.
But we were second best again and Stormers were clearly the
dominant side, and we only got our attack going against a
defence which probably was thinking the job was already done.
I've said it before in our many loss threads but we make basic
errors for the most important passages of the game, and our
attack fails to have a plan B when we really need to take
control of the match.

They’ve been shocking. Stormers were good, but were allowed a
ton of liberties at the breakdown and several big decisions were
very wrong.
If the very clear penalty try and YC before half time had been
correctly awarded, it might have been a more interesting game.
From what I can see, Quins’ big issue at the moment is that when
things aren’t going the team’s way, they’re dropping off the
level of commitment that’s needed to make the game plan work.
Marcus’s style of play depends on having multiple options
running at the defence so that he can pick the one who’s most
likely to make a break. We only saw that when the game was
already lost.

Didn't expect to win. They are one of the best club sides in the
world and I enjoyed watching them.
We need to sort ourselves out before worrying about the ref.
Some real poor errors from us. So many spills/knock ons, and
that's not just today.
A few tries once the game is over and they have switched off
just papers over it. Where was that intent from us earlier in
the game.
I love Lewies and Chisholm, but we can't afford to keep players
on board that miss so much rugby, especially now with the
smaller cap. Launchbury will help solve part of that next
season, but we really need a big beefy BR as when Chisholm is
out we don't have the power.

Yup that's fair. We're just making too unnecessary errors and
we're a side that backs the attacking game 100% of the time. I
expect the Stormers to be a lot better than us but even given
that we don't look to be a cohesive attacking unit. Players
carrying and desperately looking for someone to offload to.
Forwards playing as individuals. No real evidence of identifying
weaknesses and exploiting them.

I'd argue that kenningham, while he might not look like a beast,
is pretty strong but I agree that we just need a big physical
back rower. We badly need a number one hooker who can throw, and
northmore's performances, while he probably isn't match fit, are
worrying me.
But on top of lal that I really don't think having 4 or 5 good
lads involved in the coaching team is working. We need somebody
a bit nasty.

That's what I was thinking too, but then they popped up those
stats near the end showing that the Stormers had somehow managed
to miss something like 28 tackles against 70 made?!?!?

They defended ok, but we really made it easy for them too often.
