HARLEQUINS’ MEN’S COACHING TEAM HAVE NAMED THEIR MATCHDAY SQUAD
TO TRAVEL TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM TO FACE SARACENS IN ROUND
21 OF THE GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP, A SIDE BOLSTERED BY THE RETURN
OF FIVE INTERNATIONALS.
In the forwards, Jack Walker returns from England duty to
complete an international front row alongside Joe Marler and
Wilco Louw. Alex Dombrandt also comes back into the side at
eight having featured heavily in England’s Six Nations campaign.
Two changes come in the backline as Marcus Smith and Joe
Marchant return to Quins colours. Smith slots back into his
familiar position at ten, with Marchant on the wing.
Quins opt for a 5-3 split across the Impact Players, with Tommy
Allan also returning to the 23 from international duty with
Italy.
Previewing the fixture, Harlequins Head Coach Tabai Matson said
“For us, this performance is critical, we have to bring our best
game and sustain that for a long period.
“Having our lads back from English duty bolsters the morale of
our changing room and allows us to play at a higher level, and
that’s the same for everyone across the league, particularly
with Saracens.
“It’s the rivalries in sport that take teams to other levels.
We’re both London clubs, we play contrasting styles and there’s
obviously players competing for international positions, but it
all just adds to the Showdown.”

Barring maybe Wev somewhere in the backrow and a genuine winger
at 14, pretty much full strength. Good bench too.
To channel my inner Kevin Keegan, "I would love it if we beat
them".

Not sure why Evans is being benched? I would much prefer him to
start with Chisholm for impact/cover for 6/7/8

Both teams fully loaded. Should be a cracker. Win or bust for
us.
I'm going with my Sarries supporting mate, so bragging rights on
the line too!

Both sides have suspect defenders at 15 but both good in attack,
so both will exploit. Didn't expect Sarries to do any different
as it's their showpiece game and not good for their fan and
sponsors if big name players not there. So many individual
battles, but we have to stop seeing them as the Scots & Welsh do
England and just play what's in front of us.
Wev is an odd one, I love Baby Chis but unless his role is knock
Earl off the ball, I feel we're missing a trick. I know he was
poor against them last year but was playing really well up until
he was benched/dropped.
I'm channelling my inner Wembley 2012 for this one,with Irne
starring as Goatman!!!!

I suspect it's for his size and power, as we have Kenningham as
our main jackaller. Bringing Wev on later against a slowing
Sarries pack could be a real touch. Also, with our pack we can
put them under a lot of pressure at scrum time.

Really good team. Come on you Quins!
Looking forward to seeing Irne back in the starting line up. I
think he will be raring to let rip.
It is a shame that there isn't room for Dino and especially
Evans, but they are quality off the bench.
A lot of frustration has been building up in the squad, no
doubt. Saturday is a great opportunity to show what we can do
against the league leaders.
