Missed the games yesterday...

Can someone give me the heads-up on who played well, or not so
well. Different news sites give different opinions.
I've seen the red card incident, but only from one angle. Also
seen Sexton trying to get Marchant penalised for a shove -
laughable.
Reviewers seem to say Dommers was Ok, but still don't rate him.
Marcus and Walker not getting any time - was that reasonable?

Well, Perez finished on pole, Alonso drove superbly, Stroll is
still driving with 2 broken wrists.

Did Piastri drive well? I met him a couple of months ago -
really down to earth, friendly bloke. Looks about 15 years old
though!

Dimmers was better but then so we’re the other 7 in the pack. I
also wonder on based on this 6N if he is the No8 for England he
has not replicated what he does in a Quins shirt. That could be
due to the game plan or maybe just getting settled in the next
level. I think Mercer will have the shirt for the RWC.
March didnt get any opportunities and the others didn’t come on.
Overall I think it leave Smith hungrier than ever to put a show
on at Sarries.

This was my thought - he has a real point to prove. But would it
change anything if he has a stormer and Farrell looks distinctly
second best? Maybe it will earn him another 14 seconds in an
England shirt...

Tuillagi was looking strong but the ball rarely got past him,
Willis shone, Dombrandt stood out, Steward was having a good
match, I though Itoje had a much better match as did Ludlam.
Watson also stood out.Farrell kicked and tackled a lot and Van
Poortfleet box-kicked a lot.
I didn't realise Slade was playing until about 60 minutes when
he came into shot at the handbags. Arundel was handed 2 passes
with no support. Watson did nothing on the wing either.
Very defensive tactics again. No attack plan. Got some quicker
ball but no width, but at least they looked like they turned up.
Pretty well on a par with Wales at present.

Much better than France game but let’s be honest it wouldn’t
take much.
Pack held up, but I think need some work around the breakdown
which did leak a few penalties.
Centre for me is the biggest issue. Lawrence if he keeps his
form deserves to start at the RWC, but Slade has done nothing
all series. For all his Lauded playmaking abilities I only
noticed him when he was kicking for touch after a pen.
Watson when he got the ball was good. Jvp for me is still too
slow and kicks far too much.
I think on that performance Farrell has got his hands on the 10
shirt for the RWC. If SB was a competent head coach, he would
have brought Smith on for the last quarter, as why not? We were
still in it but needed a bit of magic to MAYBE create something,
so had nothing to lose.

Agree with MQ above. A much better performance.
But, we were never going to win that game with that game plan.
The plan seemed to be:
Let the pack create pressure and force penalties.
Then kick the 3 points
But, you can only win that game of the other team gives away
penalties. Ireland were too will drilled to give away THAT many
penalties.

England managed to reach the heights of doing what you'd expect
of every professional rugby team as a minimum - playing with a
lot of passion and commitment. They made it difficult for
Ireland for long periods which was to their credit. Ireland's
quick and accurate ball transfer in the red zome completely
befuddled England on a few occasions, which resulted in tries.
England looked like they knew their best bet was to not waste
time on the intricacies of creating linebreaks and space for
players to run through and presumably they hoped Ireland would
give away 10 or more kickable penalties.

I checked score updates, and checked the team list, expecting to
see Smith brought on at some point. When it didn't happen, I did
wonder if Farrel had been superb...
