Utility should not trump form, ever. Sometimes specialism can be
a good thing, I'm not sure why everyone always wants a jack of
all trades in the backs.
Having said that, murley could certainly work on his kicking
game if he wants caps.

Having watched Watson's defense against France, he will be very
lucky to keep his place. He needs to prove his worth to start,
which Murley and OHC did with everything physically possible at
their disposable. OHC didn't really take his chance but probably
is still in with a shout, but nothing is lost giving Murley a
go.

The Times are saying Smithy has been dropped and Bore-kick has
picked the handbrake at 10 with Tuilagi and Slade as centres.
Good luck with that

If that's true that's shocking. I think it's safe to say we can
write off this RWC if this is SB's approach, and hope its an
abysmal one too leading, to SB's resignation and then maybe,
just maybe we can get someone in with some unbiased vision.

To be fair to Owen, SB will pick JvP at 9, so what ball that
gets to Farrell swill be so glacial, that not a lot of
retardation will be required.

IF it's true - and I suspect it will be - then it will be
interesting to see if Marcus is the only player culled from last
week. There are other changes due to injusry, but will Borthwick
stick with a load of underperformers (some repeat offenders)
whilst dropping the one player that numerous pundits have said
was one of the people making most effort?

I am finding myself increasingly disengaged with Borthwick's
tactics, selections and leaks. I just don't get what he's trying
to do, and I don't think Sinfield's defensive patterns are
working.
And I could even see some method in Eddie's pre-sacking plans.
By the way, am I the only one who's not completely enamoured of
Steward? Everyone seems to think he performs well because he
doesn't drop the high balls like Daly, but between his
relatively lack of agility and acceleration and the weaknesses
in his positional play, he is not as secure at the back as an
international full back needs to be, something that both
Scotland and France exploited.
Meanwhile, Marcus and Dommers are copping a lot of the flak for
what went wrong - but from what I could see in the stadium,
Dombrandt was getting pinged because whether in attack or
defence he was often going into the breakdown without support,
and Marcus hit more rucks than a flyhalf should ever be asked to
hit.
