He also led the team to beat the world champs as an
international novice in 2021 but that barely gets mentioned. I
would hope he gets both games to show his worth, just as Farrell
had the previous 2 games (against teams who are weaker than
France and Ireland).

Borthwick has noted that Smith will start but Farrell will
finish - bet he gets more than 18 seconds
Even if Smith is totally bossing it and having a flawless game
Farrell will get 25minutes at least to kill off the hope of
victory

Borthwick has stated Farrell will finish the game at 10 and as
captain. So Marcus won't get the opportunity to run the show for
the whole game, at least. But this is still a huge improvement.

Pretty strange for him to commit to Farrell finishing the game,
perhaps the last 15 seconds?

He just loves shooting himself in the foot, doesn't he? Marcus
has a stormer and England 2 scores up at 60 minutes. The
handbrake comes on and then we start to lose territory and the
lead erodes away, he'll get so much clog.
Don't make predictions just see how the game goes

It will be interesting to see the justification for hooking a
player who's having a stormer and bossing the game. And what if
Faz has to replace a centre earlier e.g. due to injury?
Still, at least it will give a fairer comparison of the two
players.

Meh, baby steps. I'm sure most of us on here thought Smith
wouldn't see another start this side of the world Cup, possibly
even this side of 2027!

Brilliant!
It will give Stephen Jones a heart attack!
(According to him Smith is only a 10th of a player and can't
kick or pass and has no tactical game management....)
I like the forwards, Itoje needs to have a good game though as
he's been some way off his best in the last 6 months IMHO
I would have Mitchell over JVP too. Otherwise a nice team.
