I wasn't suggesting, PF, that his career was over with England.
I agree, a shoddy World Cup does change things and I'm sure
Borthwick has a plan and Smith will be on that.
The question for me is does he have the coaching team and
structure to move the game on to a more heads up game plan?

And? That’s club rugby rather than International. It would be
pretty high risk to build an RWC cycle around a pair of fly
halves who will be in the second half of their 30s when the
tournament comes around - especially if that means not giving
game time to the players who might succeed them.

Oh. Well that’s COMPLETELY different. If he’s a world class
everything ever then he will be world class at not succumbing to
the wear and tear of a long career. Obviously.

Seen the highlights clip... he would be a great signing for us
(if it is possible) !

Age can't hurt your running game if you never had one to begin
with - checkmate, haters

Is he? Newspaper headline writers were quick to say Smith
"dropped", but perhaps the episode was also about a warning to
Farrell - "You've got a few games to prove yourself otherwise
Smith and Ford will be the main two FHs...Smiff - play for Quins
next weekend to keep your game time/fitness up"; as we might
also have Tommy available Saturday, Smifter to play 55-60
mins...
Ford has hardly played much. I think Smith will play against
France and Ford won't be on the bench unless Farrell has another
average (at best) game, in which case Ford might replace Farrell
against Ireland and the pre WC friendlies; easier for England to
have two fly halves with similar style, than one with and one
without...

Evans somewhat reminiscent of Nev in his ability to break the
line with an instant burst of speed then continue the break and
perfect timing of offload to support. He’s pretty beefy and
rides tackles well. I like his nifty little chip with the
outside of his boot which he does several times in the
highlights clip.
Good work by the scouting team.
