It's such a shame what is happening in Wales, as it will be to
the detriment of Wales' success on the international front (In
terms of players having to leave the country to find a secure
contract) as Ireland has shown the benefits of the bulk (if not
all) of the squad playing in the provinces with each other on a
regular basis. Cardiff's loss is our gain, but I really hope
things are resolved soon for the benefit of all rugby.

Interesting conundrum this one. Neither 10 suits the style of
the international coach so could play more at club level and
then they'd be vying for the same shirt each week, all season.
One would then get pee'd off and adious themselves.
Not sure this is a good move for either and wonder if all of
this is to make the WRU dig a bit deeper to keep players in the
principality?

Obituaries of Smith's test career are premature in my opinion.
Things can change very quickly. Lose to France and Ireland and a
bad World Cup and all bets are off.
I expect Smith to be with Quins and part of the England set up
long term and the club will be planning on that basis. So a
decent back up at 10 is a necessity.
I can't imagine Evans will be on higher wages than Tommy, so its
a smart deal, if true.

Not sure that's quite right. Borthwick is favouring Farrell now
and may well favour Ford for the RWC, which is kind of
understandable given the need to get results out of a fairly
green squad.
But given they are both over 30 I would be surprised if they
remain as the first choice post RWC. It seems likely that Smith
will figure more prominently from 2024 onwards.
More interesting is whether Evans can push Smith at Quins. If it
is true that he's better than Patchell and Anscombe, then he's
clearly high quality but I'd put Smith some distance ahead of
them.

This is a VERY impressive highlights reel. I know that they all
are, in that sense, but I'm very impressed with his speed.

Interesting to see if this means Wales will change 60 cap rule,
or if Jarrod is giving up any idea of playing for Wales again.
Edit: looks like they dropped it to 25, but he only has 8 caps
to date

One of my first thoughts was that blokes with the surname Evans
usually do alright for us.
