O/T Chelsea mooted to want Big Stoop

This will put the cat amongst the pigeons- TRP saying Chelsea
may want to use Big Stoop as home ground whilst Stamford Bridge
is redeveloped. Obviously RFU need revenue would they get
permission? How do residents feel?

Twickenham resident surely would never accept tens of thousands
of football fans in town every week? Just can't see it ever
happening, however often it's suggested.

Wasn't this business thrashed out a few years ago when local
residents tried to stop concerts? Went to court, residents lost
and the court said - IIRC - that the RFU can put on whatever
they want at HQ.

Closer to their support heartlands plus the ability for them to
open 2 of 3 tiers based on demand etc. not as easy to do that at
Wemberley. Not sure how the stadium would be set up for fan
segregation though. Away fans in the lower south stand maybe and
block off each end somehow I imagine. Plus I’d imagine the
locals would riot if there was 20 odd additional events on top
of the existing fixture list.

Spurs played at wembley for yonks, there were no issues with
seating/demand.
Wembley also has much better transport links, and just as close
to their supporters, probably closer.

Given that Chelsea fans are awful violent scum that’s a no from
twickenham thanks.
