Unfortunately Marcus tends to use the “kick to score” tactic
from open play when you risk turning the ball over if
unsuccessful … contrast that with Danny Care who only tends to
use “kick to score” when he is playing with a penalty advantage
in his favour

Charlie Morgan of the Telegraph on twitter is suggesting Marcus
has been left out of the squad with Ford replacing him (making
Smith available for BG14).

I can’t believe SB has just dropped Marcus or any of the other
Quins boys, he has been England head coach for 5 minutes and
wasn’t able to make wholesale changes, I do believe he is making
the most of what he has got so he can get through the World Cup
without embarrassing England, I hope that after the World Cup he
will build his own team which will be based around Marcus. SB
releasing Marcus and others is also giving them valuable game
time which he cannot give them in the England side. Farrell and
a few others won’t be in contention for places after this World
Cup but SB has inherited a squad built around Farrell which he
has to work with and we have to get behind him.
