What a crap game. Wales are just awful though which is a shame
to see. Glad to see the rugby team are following up my successes
       in Cardiff over the years.

I think Mullins is lucky will be lucky to keep his place. I
believe two of the Scotland tries were because he was out of
position and he threw the intercept yesterday. Ok, he scored but
that’s not all you’re supposed to do as a wing.

I worry that without real game time Marcus is going to lose his
cutting edge. Everyone says things happen at the International
level faster than they do at club level. So Marcus needs time
playing International rugby to be up to speed and match sharp.
At the moment Borthwick is setting him up to fail. If he's only
going to be called upon when Farrell breaks something or the
situation is so dire, then that's the worst time to bring on
someone who is not up to speed (literally). Borthwick can then
say that he was right to never play Marcus, 'cos look what a
pig's ear he made of rescuing England, and one of the greatest
talents of his generation is wasted!

Hate to be facetious but it’s entirely possible that after being
porous against Scotland, they did some work on it in training in
the week before the Italy game, again in the down week, and
       again before the wales game.

The skill level on show abysmal.
The players may be fitter, and faster, and therefore under more
pressure from the fitter faster opponents, but both sides
struggled to pass, or kick, or throw into a line-out, or time a
jump to catch the throw in.
The emphasis on players who can dominate collisions does not
       lead to an edifying spectacle.

The SH teams don’t pay as well as the NH ones, which is why so
many of their players come up North but not the other way round.
Marchant went to NZ not for the money but to develop his game
and improve his chances of playing for England; and he’s
presumably off to France now because it’s become clear that
England don’t have more than a bit part role for him.
Smith might get a bigger payday in France, but he’s already one
of the best paid players in rugby and he already has a club team
that’s built around him. I’m not sure what he has to gain by
leaving Quins, and I imagine that Quins are very aware of how
much he is worth to them in terms of tickets sold.

I think even staunch Sarries fans will struggle to defend OF
       recently.
       ❌ free flowing back play
       ❌ poor goal kicking
❌ regularly coughs up possession by kicking the ball
away, be it with the high ball or those atrocious grubber
kicks, which most fail to even get past the defensive line
What does he offer as a positive? His leadership? Even that is
very questionable. There’s literally no case for him to be there

I didn't see most of the game. Sounds like that was no bad
thing. But did anyone stand out as being particularly good or
       bad?

The starting pack looks increasingly like it has the right
balance, and Dombrandt had his best game in an England shirt,
finally showing some of his Quins form.
In the backline, Lawrence and Watson were both very good, and
Steward got MOTM mostly for being very solid in the air.
Mako was used smartly as a sub to change a scrum dynamic that M
Raynal had taken against, Lawes looked like he hadn’t been away.
B Curry made one bad mistake but then settled in. Mitchell added
       some tempo.
JVP, Slade and Malins were a mixture of good and bad; Farrell
was poor in most aspects of his game but solid in defence and
       around the breakdown.

Thanks. Most of what I read, and what little I saw, was a turgid
affair. Farrell is looking increasingly poor, so I'd hoped he'd
had a good first half at least. I am very impressed with Ludlum
       - huge workrate and very effective.
