The trouble is the most likely option is that Quins will go
under without doing it.

That they may go under without doing the games over the road,
possibly.
They're not going to go under if they just either offered a
slightly cheaper ST option that didn't include them or
guaranteed that ST holders who can't make them could resell
their tickets as they can for normal home Prem matches, are
they?
It's just taking the most loyal customers for granted.

Ive been a season ticket holder for over 15 years. I am no fan
of the Premiership games played over the road and won't bother
attending as I find the atmosphere is dreadful.
I am currently 50/50 as to whether I will bother renewing as
with so few games at the Stoop I feel I am not getting any real
value from the membership.

"With" and "without" options aren't hard in concept, but every
option adds to the admin cost. Adding a car park pass is a once
a year thing at renewal. Excluding BG and BSKO has at least
three points of admin throughout the year and a lot more
potential for people to pick the wrong option or forget they
have opted out or change their minds. Considering how overloaded
the clubs' phone lines can get even without those options, I'm
imagining it would need more staff to process it. That's a cost
that the club has to recoup somehow.
Back of an envelope, if that means, say 2 more admin people on
average over the course of the year, then if the salary is
around £30k per person, fully loaded cost will be about £60k per
person or £120k overall. Across 8,000 STHs, that's £15 on the
price of a season ticket (which means those who don't want an
opt out end up subsidising the people who do. How is *that* fair
or reasonable?).
A season ticket gives you a sizeable discount on your seat
relative to buying individual tickets - I think about 30%
depending on which class of seat you're in. It's priced in part
on the basis that you won't be able to make all of the home
games, but if you make it to 3/4 of them you're still getting a
discount (and the convenience of your own seat).
It's unfortunate if the games you can't make happen to be ones
that don't offer ticket resale - but that could be *any* game.
It's only in the last couple of seasons that most games have
been sufficiently sold out for ticket resale to be enabled, and
it's not that long ago that it wasn't offered at all. They can
only offer it because they've moved to an electronic ticketing
system that allows them to reallocate tickets at the Stoop -
presumably that's not an option when they're over the road,
though it might become one in the future as Twickenham's own
ticketing app seems to be improving rapidly.
And as you've admitted - you could have handed your rescheduled
BG tickets back if you'd responded in time. So basically, you're
complaining that you're going to miss one home game.
If the season ticket package doesn't work for you any more, then
the club has a waiting list of people who want one. The fact
that they have a waiting list suggests that the package they've
put together works for a lot of fans.
Apologies if that sounds callous, but I get very tired of the
amount of complaining on here about the BG and BSKO in
particular. We have to recognise that the club is not some
massive profit making machine. It was heading towards breakeven
before the pandemic but now like every other club is in a more
difficult position - and at least it hasn't gone under like
Wasps or Worcester. BG and BSKO are a big part of the club's
path to breakeven; even if we don't like the events themselves
(and many of us do), we need to recognise how important they are
for the club as a whole.
I'm sure we're all keen to support the club financially and help
to keep it viable; sometimes that means recognising that the
season ticket packages are a trade off on both sides.

No, though they had a bit of a win for me on Friday. I have an
almost tragicomic record of things going wrong when I try to fly
to Edinburgh for reasons other than business. I've had flights
cancelled for everything from equipment failure to high winds,
I've had flights cancelled as I've walked into the airport. I've
had flights cancelled and then the train cancelled as well.
On Friday, going up for Scotland v Wales, it was for once not
the flights. It was the Jubilee Line and then the DLR going down
as I was trying to get across to London City. I eventually
managed to get on a DLR train, but I was cutting it very fine.
They rang me as the train pulled into London City Airport
station to ask if I was planning to catch the flight.
I explained that I was literally at the station, and a little of
my tale of woe. "You've got nine minutes," they said.
Fortunately, it was one of the last flights out and security was
almost empty, so I was straight through. And I didn't run into
anyone on my sprint through the terminal. Not even the couple
who, seeing me coming, cleverly decided to move in different
directions, blocking the corridor unintentionally but
completely.
When I arrived at the gate they said "You must be [Poorfour].
You were very quick."
Turns out I wasn't even the last passenger to board. A middle
aged Chinese lady turned up several minutes after me and far
less flustered.
Besides - I've never had that level of explanation of BA's
business model from one of their staff. They can't even explain
why on some flights they charge extra for Emergency Exit row
seats that have about 2/3 of the minimal legroom the other seats
have.

That is good news, so approx 12k tickets left to sellout the
Lower and middle tiers

I was hugely opposed to the extra game against the road, don’t
like BG much but could see why the club did it
With two less teams the opportunity for the club to generate
revenue is dwindling , so can see why they do it, but like many
don’t like it
If it wasn’t for the Quinssa room at the spring game it would
have been a far worse experience , and signed up for it again
Would be useful to see what the profit is from doing the two
games across the road, as I’m sure it must pay for itself and
keep the finances more positive than not. And if it means we
still have a club to support so be it

I was looking forward to the Big Summer KO, but then when going
through our final home game fixtures, I saw what I thought was
two Saturday afternoon 3pm KickOffs at the Stoop, which have
been somewhat of a rarity.
Alas, I noticed/realised one of those was actually BSKO across
the road, so now down to one Stoop 3pm Saturday for the
remainder of the season.
Still, its first world issues.
I love Big Game, and it was a massive shame that had to be moved
from the 27th of Dec. That really couldn't be helped.
I appreciate the club has to have some extra revenue streams,
and trying to get big crowds over the road is part of that. I
also adore Saturday afternoons at The Stoop, especially in the
Spring, and am losing one of those.
It is what it is. Will still be in Twickenham first thing in the
morning for BG and BSKO, trying my hardest to enjoy myself :)
