His point was he assumed “tickets sold” includes all season
ticket holders regardless of attendance.
It doesn’t. Unless, as you say, you claim a seat and don’t go,
which seems unusual at best.

Yes, you can let Quins know you don't need the seat and they
will try to sell it and trouser the money. It's not a re-sale
like it would be with Stoop seats.

Pretty much is. I don't think he's bothered about how many
tickets get sold. He's just saying that that number isn't
necessarily accurate any more because of people like him. And
then goes on to complain about not being able to resell and why
should he bother to let them know he won't be going so they can
trouser the money for his ticket (again!).

Yes, pretty much that. They clearly don't care about us, so why
should we care about them? It's not like it's looking at though
it's going to be a sell-out with someone desperate for my ticket
anyway. I could've gone back in December, so got tickets for
then, but didn't get round to telling Quins I can't go in March,
so I assume "my" seats will still be showing as sold.
I have emailed them to ask if they'd consider selling a reduced
price membership that doesn't include the two games over the
road. I suspect it will fall on deaf ears though. [emoji22]

This sounds like you are in a tough place with the Club.
Personally, I think of myself as a Club Member and don't think
of "us" and "them" - just "us".
Maybe you have fallen out of love for the Club? A contact that I
work with was in the same boat around 5 years ago. So, he
started going to watch games at a local club instead. But, after
a while he realised what he liked about going to the Stoop and
has now returned to being a Season Ticket holder.
Are you in the same boat?

I redesign businesses for a living. Not in sports, but I've got
a pretty good understanding of what makes money and what
doesn't. What does make money is putting together a few fairly
standardised packages that map to what significant pools of
customers want to buy, with a couple of options for the things
that most divide the segment. A very good way to lose money is
to try to cater to too many options and extreme personalisation.
The club has a waiting list for season tickets. The options that
make sense are pricing based on where you sit and what you can
see, and offering car parking as an extra. I assume the fact
that they don't offer an opt out on BG and BSKO suggests that
the majority of STHs take up their tickets.
They do care about what the fans want provided sufficient
numbers want the same thing to make it economic to offer. They
almost certainly can't customise to specific fans without losing
money (meaning either the owners or the other fans will end up
subsidising your choice). They are, at the end of the day, a
business.
And it's not really on them if you didn't get round to
responding to the email they sent you offering a pretty fair
range of options for the rescheduled Big Game.

Quite the opposite!
I love going to the Stoop! I love the atmosphere, we have a
great bunch of other ST holders around us... I just absolutely
hate the fact that they've forced us over the road for twenty
bloody percent of our supposedly "home" Prem games this season!

Providing ST options including or excluding the Twickenham games
wouldn't exactly be the hardest thing under the sun to engineer,
would it?
What pisses me off most about it is that the two home Prem games
this season that I can't go to due to other commitments happen
to be the two Twickenham games. If they were any other game,
I'd be able to resell my tickets and get Quins Credit back to
set against next year’s renewal, but because they are the
Twickenham games - chosen by the club, not by me - I get screwed
out of that option because they can sell out every game at the
Stoop, but not at the crappy concrete mausoleum! How is that in
any way fair or reasonable?
