Huge sections of tickets could be left unsold for the Italy
match

It's not cost of living issues for me. I just finally reached
the point where I was sick of spending large amounts of money
and got a rubbish game in return! I don't mind if we do our best
and get beaten by Scotland, that's what makes great matches. I
object when we look clueless, ponderous, hopeless. England vs
Scotland is one of the world class grudge matches. Of course
Scotland want to beat us, and every fibre of their bodies
resonates with that idea. That's why it's so satisfying to beat
them and inflict further pain on them! But if Scotland win, I'm
the first on my feet applauding a great victory in what I hope
was a tough fought match. But I'm damned if I'll shell out one
more time to watch the rubbish that Eddie Jones was serving up.

I'm not particularly excited about the 6 nations as Jones had us
playing such dull rugby. I know I should give borthwick a chance
but I'm sadly expecting more of the same

For me the main purpose of the Italy game has always been to
serve as the sacrificial lamb I can offer up to my wife as
evidence that "no, darling, of course rugby isn't than you!
I'll just watch the recording later!"
Having said that, I also set myself a hard limit in that I
simply refuse to pay more than £1 per minute for any rugby
match!
I payed £56 to see England beat New Zealand in 2012 (as an
aside, does anyone else somewhat mourn the demise of the paper
ticket as a souvenir?) and that seemed expensive enough at the
time. According to the Bank of England inflation calculator,
that same ticket, had it just risen in line with inflation,
would cost £70.95 today, but the greed of the RFU saw them put
prices through the roof for the 2015 World Cup and just never
drop them back down.

Sorry to keep playing the same tune, but I haven't paid
significant money to see a game of rugby for many years.
I prefer to watch the game at my own local rugby club, have a
drink at a sensible price and be on my way home before the crowd
is out of HQ.
Why not?

For me, as far as Rugby is concerned, it goes like this :
a) At the Stoop Friday evening (U-20's international Eng v Scot)
7.00 ko
b) The sofa at home to watch Eng v Scot
c) At the Stoop : Quins women v Loughborough Lightening 2.30 ko
BENEFITS of the above :
Free, as a member. No travel/queuing stress. No "rip-off" prices
for food & drink in the big Stoop. Two games at our beloved home
ground.

I’m glad fans have voted with their feet, and thoroughly hope
the RFU are embarrassed on tv with empty patches whilst other
nations manage sell outs.
Fans aren’t cash cows.
Sure, costs have gone up, but people have started to correctly
prioritising things.

It's just tipped over into the too expensive for me for what you
get. Especially for the Italy game. There used to be
differentiated pricing for this match but there doesn't seem to
be much of that any more. No real surprise that people aren't
willing to shell out top dollar for a Sunday game, half term
week.
Wales have had trouble for years, particularly in the Autumn,
same as Murrayfield.

I've long since felt that the RFU hugely over prices England
games. I'd love to go regularly, but I'm just not paying £140 a
ticket. If I take one of my kids, which I'd love to do as I
have very strong memories of going with my dad, that makes it a
£400 afternoon.
I think Eng vs Sco has been slow to sell. My local club
suddenly got an extra 10 tickets last weekend, I don't remember
that happening before for a game like this.

Yes - this is crazy money !!!!! A family day out at an
international game would pay for a Quins season ticket (where
you would get c.25 home games - including the women's). MUCH
better value than the Big Stoop !!!!
