Nick David manages to get better week by week, even in a team
struggling for any kind of form.

Yup. Nick David has been a bright spark.
I thought Oscar Beard also had a decent game at 13.

Yeah, David sensational again - Green and Lynagh won’t both have
guaranteed starting spots when they’re back fit, and that’s a
good thing

In the 2nd minute he penalised Quins (Lamb I think) for the same
thing despite it being obvious the Quins player was trying to
get out and wasn't interfering with ball clearance. The
subsequent kick led to their first try. I know refs make
mistakes but all I ask for is consistency. The only consistency
from Carley today was 'penalty Irish' He was his usual over
officious incompetent and inconsistent self. I had a bad feeling
when I saw it was him and it turned out to be the case.
No excuses for our lack of commitment and organisation though.
We do seem to lack a clinical edge when needed.

We were rubbish for the Bristol, Northmapton and Sale games.
Then we were very good in 2nd half against Racing, and for the
whole match against Sharks. And then today rubbish again. It's
not hard to see that certain key players make a big difference
and it's not just about them, they also seem to inspire other to
play better as well.
I'm still optimistic, once 6 nations is over and those players
are back we will have a good chance of going on a run, including
in Europe, but I'm concerned that 4 marches at full strength
won't be enough games. We are going to need something from
Glocester (A) Exeter (H) and Bristol (A) before end of 6N.

I don't think it is all "doom & gloom". As SweilornoSweil said,
David is on fire at the moment - he had a great game and Marler
was tireless too. Credit to L. Irish though. They played well &
were determined to avenge the drilling we inflicted on them at
home last season. Yes, we have had 2 bad away games (Saints & L.
Irish), but look at who is yet to come back from injury -
Lynagh, Tyrone & Luke in the backs; Collier & (hopefully)
Kenningham in the forwards. Especially, think of the backs we
have at our disposal (soon) - Murley, Luke, Andre, Tyrone,
Marchant, Marcus, David, Beard, Lynagh, Lennox, Cleaves (have I
missed anyone ?). I think most clubs would live that selection
headache, but we have them ! Remember, we are only 2 points off
3rd still. The glass is half-full in my opinion. I still believe
a top 4 finish is well within our grasp.

Pitiful performance again, think we need a clear out of all
coaches and start again, this set have run their cycle and its
clear players are not responding in the appropriate way. The 1st
20 mins of the 2nd half showed what they could do, but whatever
is said in the final few minutes before the game starts is not
working. Time for a change.
