HARLEQUINS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE TODAY THAT FORWARD DINO LAMB
HAS EXTENDED HIS TIME WITH THE CLUB.
The 6ft 5in, 119kg lock who can also cover backrow has made over
70 appearances for the senior side since making his debut in
September 2017 against Northampton Saints.
The powerful forward was a part of the matchday squad that
claimed a dramatic 40-38 victory in the highest-ever scoring
Gallagher Premiership final in 2021 to clinch Harlequins’ second
Premiership trophy.
A product of the Harlequins Academy, Lamb becomes the latest
player to recommit to the squad ahead of the 2023/24 season,
following scrum-half Danny Care and prop Simon Kerrod, in
addition to new signings Joe Launchbury and Will Porter who will
join the Club over the summer.

Lamb said: “It’s fantastic to extend my time with Quins. I love
playing for this Club. Ever since I joined the Academy at a
young age all I’ve wanted is to play for Harlequins, and I feel
fortunate to be able to do exactly that for a living.
“I feel like I’m continuing to develop here under the coaching
of Jerry Flannery and Adam Jones and enjoy being part of a side
that plays the exciting brand of rugby that is at the heart of
this Club.
“It’s a great time to be a Harlequin and I’m delighted to
continue to be part of this group.”
Head Coach Tabai Matson said: “Dino’s potential is immense and
we are thrilled he’s recommitted to the Club.
“It’s always great to see a homegrown player go on to become a
regular feature for the senior team and Dino’s athleticism is a
real point of difference at the highest level of club rugby.
“He’s relatively young but has already played over 70 Games for
Quins at lock. His ability to play in the loose gives him great
versatility and more scope to grow his game.”

Great to be keeping him. In his early years he looked a bit
lacking in physicality, but he’s really come into his own as
he’s matured and bulked up.
His style of play reminds me of Itoje, and while he’s not quite
at that level (but then again, who is?) he is at that “just
below international” level where a club needs a core of players
to be successful.
He’s a really good modern enforcer and disruptor, especially
when one of our setpiece specialists is playing alongside him.

Good news. I was slightly worries that with Lewies renewing and
Launchbury coming in we might lose him.

Good to keep him IMO. I remember another player commenting that
he's freakishly athletic for a big guy. Since he's bulked up he
really does instill confidence.

By all accounts, according to Adam Bishop when he was S&C coach
at Quins, Lamb was the strongest guy in the squad.... absolute
beast and only going to get stronger. With him, Herbst, Lewies,
Hammond and Launchbury arriving we are suddenly pretty stacked
at lock.

Good retention this is. He’s going to give us a lot of options.
We have five locks for next year and we’ve seen three of them
(Hammond, Lamb, Lewies) at 6 in the past year as well. Dino is
one of those players who we’ve seen teams (England, Boks) deploy
as a third lock in tight situations or as a 4 on a fast track,
in the Itoje / Mostert role. Keeping him gives us options; we
could see him with Lewies like last weekend, or one of the two
at six with Launch / Irne in the engine room to give us punch we
have lacked in tight games.

worked really well last weekend at 6, with a great option at the
front of the lineout....
