       I guess this part is the issue.
       He was there for less than 3 months.
       I guess that this clause is to stop you from hiring a few big
       name players to get a result in a game.
       (Like what Hartpury did one season in Championship. They needed
       a win to avoid relegation and  acquired about 9 Gloucester
       players and, strangely enough, won the game.)

       Cruse was signed in November so could it be that he was
       registered in Edinburgh's original squad rather than as an
       Additional Player, which is the rule quoted above and which I
       think Bristol were found to have breached by then letting Stooke
       go before the three months was up?
