Going to be expensive for the club too, flying a squad of at
least 25, coaches, support staff etc. all that way again (and I
doubt they'll be in economy either).

I think I read somewhere that SA sides are covering those costs
       for a few years

Ethiopian Airways currently showing circa £800 return with one
stop (16.5 hours) from LHR. Won't be doing it myself, having
just returned from CT. Friend out there told me he'd recently
used Ethiopian as it was much cheaper than BA and both flights
were very good. Short stop was actually quite bearable despite
       being at 3pm.

Did the Durban trip as said it’s a “ One off” ( in my head) but
you have to question if this is the way forward, I know they
don’t care about travelling support and it’s all about TV, but
one game inEurope out of first 3 away fixtures in comp takes a
       lot of the shine off

       Stolen from a Tigers board....
"So we might not end up playing Edinburgh after all.
Since they played Tom Cruse in the Cup and he has now moved to
Saints having been there less than three months that should be 1
slam dunk 5 point reduction (like Bristol) meaning Quins should
       be our opponents"

Does that mean if points are docked we won’t be playing Stormers
and we might have a game we can actually go to and watch Quins

Surely Edinburgh are safe as he played for them when a member of
their team, if I understand the original message correctly. It
would be Saints who could be in trouble if they played him I
       would have thought.

Cant see it personally , especially when you look at the regs
3.4 Each club may register up to five Additional Players during
the pool stage but none during the knockout stage, each to
replace a player previously registered. A minimum of three
Additional Players must be front row players, and two Additional
Players can be from any position. Players must have a
three-month contract with the club and must not have played for
another club in the same tournament. Additional Player
registrations must be submitted by 12 noon (GMT) on the
Wednesday before the match. De-registered players may be
re-registered (in place of the relevant Additional Players)
       during the pool stage.
3.5 For Second Registration, clubs can add up to three players
to supplement their squads and one of the players must be a
       front row player.

The Bristol issue was that a player signed mid-season has to
stay for 3 months. If not, he is retrospectively ineligible and
therefore a 5-point deduction is applied.
Bristol had it with Stooke and lost 5 points.
I can see the logic behind the rule so teams don’t just bring in
ringers. However, given the Wasps/Worcester situation, it must
be hard to say to a guy that he can’t take a new longer-term job
because we’ll be hit by a points deduction.
