Great signing. When I saw him play for Wasps, he seemed a very
tidy player. We have been crying out for a decent no9 to
       challenge and understudy Care.
Only time will tell. I guess that means Giltema will be off. Or
is he designated as. Third choice or fourth after Steele?
Now for a back row player or just promote Trenholm who looks an
       idea excellent prospect

My only worry with Randall was when he played with Marcus, he
always wanted to be the one that made the breaks and always took
quick taps, almost saying 'don't forget me' and got turned over
or lost the ball. Rafi seems to know when to go and when to
pass, with less ego. Saying that, they've both had long lay offs
so may have re-assessed such things.
Still think he'll be hungry and want to prove himself and we
need someone to put real pressure on Care and make him keep the
       shirt.

Interesting view. The opinion of many Sale fans was that pre-his
latest injury, Raffi was playing too much like Faf - trying to
run the show and ignoring his 10.
When he came back v Leicester at the start of the season, there
was a definite feel that Raffi was trying too hard to be the
star - possibly with a view to getting back onto Eddie's radar.
I haven't see Saturday's game yet but the consensus seems to be
that he'd calmed down a bit so hopefully we have a more
       controlled player.

I think Quins gave been pretty savvy here. Porter is a very
decent understudy at 9, and with him and DC next season we're
       well stocked.
Marcus is the future for England, and playing alongside him on a
regular basis and taking a club level understanding to the
national team is bound to factor in to the thinking of English
scrum halves as and when their contracts are up.
We should be well positioned to attract a Randall, Quirke, JVP
or Mitchell as DC's replacement for 2024/25 season.

It bodes well when you read Bristol fans are gutted he is
leaving, some saying he’s been their best 9 this season. I feel
this is very much a signing to push Danny rather than be someone
to make up the numbers, as if we lost Steele and Gjaltema I
don’t think the reaction would be the same as Bristol have.
Steele in fairness has been OK but his impact has been felt off
the bench, when he’s started for us you can see why LI weren’t
       too fussed.

I can see Steele moving on / not being renewed. Think Gjaltema
re-signed last season, although if I were him I'd be looking for
an out - it's clear the coaches don't trust him (yet)... and
when they have given him a chance he hasn't taken it (yet). I do
think he has something though so would like to see us keep him.
Stafford feels like one of those who isn't going to make it as a
       Prem-level SH.
Like this signing a lot, welcome Will!

I would let Steele and Stafford go (if possible)
       Care
       Porter
       Gjaltema
Murray (Who I think has looked pretty lively in his brief
       cameos)

I think the kid is more than an understudy for Danny. Very nice
business and shame we can’t get him in right away.

It’s odd that we’ve not been able to grow or find a scrum half
       to replace Danny yet.
It was always going to be tricky, given he’s England’s second
most capped scrum half (and currently #8 on the all time list),
but it’s surprising given we’ve found replacements for the likes
of Robbo, Minty, Nev, JTH, Lowe, Ugo and Brown (and Baxter looks
like he will step fairly easily into Marler’s boots, if not his
       haircut).
Of course, this may be because Danny will go on playing forever.

Danny has hardly changed in appearance at all since he started
playing for us. I wonder if he had an encounter with "Nosferatu"
       at some time ?
Anyway, as long as he wants to continue to play (& to play at
the level he still achieves), let's embrace that and wish him
       well.
