First of all thanks to Euroquin for correcting /informing me
about the next round. As this is a speculation thread, may I
pose the following question! I hate to count chickens etc, being
more than a little superstitious, but if we qualify, it's not
beyond the realms of possibility that we get Stormers. As I
understand/understood it (EPRC regs seem to change often) the
tie must be played in Europe. As the Stormers man in charge
where do you choose to play us?
Presumably gate money is irrelevant and the rules cover
distribution of said monies, so opt for Italy or Southern France
for the weather or SW London for SA Fans, also allowing many
Quins fans?, or Wales, Scotland or Ireland hoping the crowd
(cheap or free entry) take the view of anyone but the English as
our Celt friends have been known to take!
As I said pure speculation but an interesting dilemma for the
Stormers, or indeed the other SA teams faced with a similar
situation.

The same page I quoted before only says that the semis must be
played in Europe (and the final is in Dublin). I think the round
of 16 and the quarterfinals could be in SA. I think I also saw
that in the press too somewhere.

Strange, isn't it, that until now, nobody had been considering
the possibility that we might've got a home fixture? After our
result yesterday, that briefly remained on the cards until
Exeter demolished Castres, but had Castres won and deprived
Exeter of a bonus point, it would've left us in the rather yucky
position of having to cheer Saracens on to do likewise to
Edinburgh!
As it stands, we can finish either 5th or 6th in our group,
meaning we play either 4th or 3rd in the other, and that only
depends on the result of Toulouse vs Munster, but even that
leaves lots of permutations!
If Toulouse win, regardless of them or Munster scoring BPs, they
finish second, Stormers would be 3rd and Leicester 4th.
If Munster win, it gets a LOT more complicated!
If Toulouse lose with 2 BPs, then they finish second regardless,
and depending on how much they lose by, 3rd and 4th could still
be any of Stormers, Leicester, Dragons or Munster, unless
Munster managed to win without a BP.
If Toulouse lose with a single BP, then 3rd and 4th could be any
of them, Tigers, Munster or Ospreys depending on Munster's
winning margin.
If Toulouse lose without a BP and Munster win without one, then
Leicester are 3rd and Ospreys 4th.
If Toulouse lose without a BP and Munster win with one, then 3rd
and 4th would be Leicester plus either Munster or Ospreys, but
Munster could finish 3rd, 4th or 5th depending on winning
margin!
My brain hurts!!!

Currently Toulouse are beating Munster.
If that remains the case, then in that group, Stormers will be
third and Tiggers fourth.
In other words, we'll all have to get behind Sarries giving
Edinburgh a pasting and depriving them of even a solitary bonus
point.
That's the difference between an away game in England or South
Africa.

from Cape Town with no option to stay longer.
