Even if this is true, neither of those players are playing for
England anymore and the players replacing them aren’t going to
fill that void well and the scrum will still struggle against
the best. Sink and Stuart have both been good there and at least
one of them has a longer future in tests.
Only thing I can think is he’s there to help install whatever
Borthwick and Sinfield will do with the pack more generally.

Fairly good squad. More refreshing than one of Eddies picks.
I imagine the back line could be:
9. Youngs (groan)
10. Faz
11. Murley
12. Kelly
13. Manu
14. OHC
15. Steward
Not quite sure Cole and Mako are good picks though

Decent enough squad. Surely it is time to move on from Youngs.
Isiekwe a bit of a surprise.
Not sure why Mako is still in there. Marler's form has dipped a
bit recently, plus his ban. Still, he did a very good job
yesterday.

Not sure why people were expecting Joe to be in there. If
nothing else his recent ban would've been a huge black mark and
there's a lot of good loosehead talent, before you even get into
his problems with touring, his patchy availability, etc.

Mako has been a great servant for England, but Genge,
Rapava-Ruskin and Rodd all offer more around the field then him
now, and Joe remains our best scrummaging loosehead by a margin
(followed by Genge who has improved markedly). I think Mako's
fortunate that Rapava-Ruskin is injured and Joe isn't up for
selection.

I'm not surprised he's not been selected and wasn't expecting
him to be, but I still think he's more deserving of selection
than Mako. I accept that selecting him comes with certain risks

Farrell being named captain says it all really, so
disappointing.
Some decent picks in there - Pleased to see Marchant, Murley,
Earl, Kelly, and no Porter, Billy, May or Nowell.
Jack Walker is a ridiculous pick, and Ruskin/Pearson should be
two of the first on the list.
Would have liked to have seen Radwan there regardless of current
form, although I'm happy with OHC and Murley - just hope we
don't see too much of Daly or Malins. Quirke too.
Didn't expect to see Joe or Danny, and not upset that we
haven't.
Mako, Mitchell, Daly, Freeman, Malins, Fin Smith, Manu, Youngs,
Ludlam, Simmonds, no thanks

OOI, if you don't want Mitchell or Youngs, who are your three
9s? I'm assuming from what you have said here that Raffi is one
but who else? Happy with JVP? Personally I don't think he's
playing that well at the moment. Spencer? Care?

Randall has just come back to fitness so give him a couple of
games and he'd by my 3rd 9 behind Rafi & JVP. Else DC as they
are both runners, not BK specialists like Youngs.
