White starting over Lawday is utter madness.
White to be competent needs to be having the game of his life,
otherwise he is championship at best.
Pleased Irne is back as we need his grunt. Not yet convinced
Hammond has what it takes to nail down a starter in the Tizard
did, so would of preffered Matthews just for another lineout
option.
That is a dangerous and strong Sale team, lets not kid ourselves
with their away form.

I will travel in hope more than expectation. Difficult to see
White and Wallace competing with the Curry twins, and they've
significant bench strength with Rodd, Ross and Ashman.
Still, hoping a partisan home crowd plus a desire from the
players to rectify last weekend's performance will even the
scales.

Would have liked Will Edwards to start at 10, I think Quins play
more expansive rugby with him. If Allen and Smithy are both
involved in the 6N he'll be in soon anyway.

The issue is that if Edwards is at 10, then you need someone
else to be doing the place kicking.
I know that Andre can kick - but, not sure how good he is.

Hammond's had a couple of poor performances on the bounce but
for me there is mitigation. He's still developing, yet he's
started virtually every game this season due to injuries to
Lewies and Lamb. He's equitted himself well on the whole, but
like most young players there is going to be a degree of
inconsistency and possibly fatigue setting in, as not used to
playing week on week at this level.
I think he's still a decent prospect and I certainly think he'll
become a senior premiership standard lock, although agree he
doesn't have the same to the manor born look about him as
Tizard.
On the whole I think I'd rather go with Hammond than Matthews.
Matthews is probably more assured at the lineout but he's also a
penalty magnate at the breakdown.

His athleticism is good and I think is able to do a job for
sure. I think the only slight issue in terms of being a starter
is he and Matas are almost 5.5, in respect they have almost a
bit of a second row, and a bit of a back row type build.
Launchbury and Herbst next season will be a great pairing, if
Joe can stay fit.

-Yep, we're gonna get Mullered, again.
-It's just like old times, eh? - Although I will concede that
nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Agreed at the moment, though suspect a bit like Dino we'll see
Hammond bulk up a bit and lock become his primary position.
Would like to have seen Matas in the matchday squad.
