Yes only with Tommy Allen on @15 with Marcus @ 10 do we have
anything like a 2nd 10 on the pitch. Even then he doesn't play
like it.

With Allan going at the end of the season, why doesn't the club
try and tempt back James Lang from Edinburgh ? He doesn't seem
to feature much for them in the 4 years he's been there. He's
still only 27 and would be a good second string 10 (who can also
play at inside centre. What do people think ?

His Scotland ambitions don't seen to have amounted to much. I'm
not really sure that there much benifits to bring him in over
a.n. other though.

He wasn't great for us and doesn't appear to have started a
match at 10 since 2019. No thanks.

Buried deep in this article about today’s game against Sale is a
mention that Marcus Smith is expected back for the away game
against Racing 92.
Warning - Pat Sanderson is extremely complementary about Wayne
Barnes so it may be prudent to have medicinal brandy to hand

Like others have said, we don't typically play with any other
player acting as a second 10, whether that's Green from 15 or
even Andre (who is a very decent distributor and kicker for a
massive guy). You just need one of your centres to have decent
hands to get the ball to the edge. Take Sale for example - Manu
at 12 for the direct stuff and James (who may have played 10 but
wouldn't be considered a serious option unless in special
circumstances) at 13. Leicester in their winning season didn't
as they had 2 of Kelly/Porter/Moroni.

Now he would probably be 4th/5th choice Sam was our back up 10
not so long ago.

So based on the apparent three protagonists for England #10 :-
Farrell, Ford & Smith which one is playing the best at the
moment?
Obviously its Farrell as the other two are injured, now with
potentially (Absolutely deserved IMHO!) a ban coming for Farrell
and the other two not proven to be fit yet who is next on the
gravy train?
I assume that Ford & Smith will be playing soon, and would get
picked but what if they are not or suffer a setup...?

Apparently the RFU are lining some "new discovery" called Rolf
Renewal.....uncannily similar to Farrell in many ways so should
slot right in.
