Which begs the question why some sections of the media are still
claiming Joe's in big trouble, heading for a long ban etc.
For me, the bigger question is whether Joe is getting back to
his self-destruct mode, and whether he needs time away from the
game again. As a Quis fan, that's sad; but as a person Joe needs
to do whatever is necessary to get himself straight.

On a lighter note re sledging...
Glen McGrath passing Brandts bat several times says in
frustration, "why are you so fat?..To which Brandt replies,

People do this sort of stuff to get a reaction.
If you don't react, then they tend to look like an idiot and
they keep quiet.

I think it's a combination of wanting to get clicks/views on a
current story and having journos who actually have no knowledge
of how the game works.
I think regardless of any official actions, Marler needs some
time off. I have felt things haven't been right for a while but
it stood out at the Bath away game, and since then in a playing
capacity has appeared a bit absent. If his head isn't in the
right place, I imagine he could easily get wound up by the oppo
and end up reacting himself, so I'd rather avoid that potential
red card!

Ah..
The fact Joe apologized aka an admission of guilt its simply a
case of how many weeks he's banned for.
I'll go for 12 as a guess. It's just a shame his playing legacy
could very well end on this being the rugby worlds last
meaningful memory of him, but he's only brought it on himself.

Seems like a storm in a tea cup frankly.
I am very much doubt that JM knew about Henans mum. So it was
just a random comment but of sledging. Big deal. It happens all
the time.

5.12 The Union shall have power to discipline any
(a) (b) (c) (d) (e)
RFU RULES
Member;
Rugby Body;
non-voting member of the Union;
any player, official, member or employee of a Member or a Rugby
Body; or any other person or body that submits to Union’s
jurisdiction to discipline them;
Effective from 1 August 2020
5 of 30
for any infringement of these Rules, the RFU Regulations, the
Laws of the Game or the World Rugby Regulations and/or for any
conduct which is prejudicial to the interests of the Union or
the Game or which amounts to cheating. The Union may terminate
or suspend membership of the Union or impose any other
appropriate punishment for any such offence. The procedure for
and the conduct of disciplinary hearings shall be prescribed by
the Council and shall be published in the Handbook.
