Personally, I don't think that I would leave a secure permie job
for a short term contract role in the current environment.
Basically, if you join England as an attack coach and then lose
a couple of games, then you could be out of work - and, there
are 2 fewer Premiership teams out there who could re-employ you.

He's firmly in the shop window now though. He could probably
pick up a job in most of the main rugby playing countrys.

In all honesty, how much difference is he going to be able to
make between now and the first 6N game? It's good for his CV. If
he has hopes of returning to NZ and coaching the All Blacks it
may be useful, but after 15 years here I suspect he's pretty
settled.

I remember him posting on Instagram a photo of his & his wifes'
new UK passports a few years back, so he's definitely settled
here. That said, I'm sure that if the NZRU were to approach him
about a move back to coach one of the Super Rugby sides with a
view to a longer term progression to an All Blacks position,
he'd definitely be considering that. I know I would in his
place.

Try before you buy. If we do well this 6n, then he very well

That may depend on the degree to which he has burned his bridges
with the NZRU. He didn't leave on the best of terms and has been
very clear ever since that he's settled here.
