I mean this has all been very interesting but it was all based
on misreading Kitson's article.
He literally said "should". The sentence starts with Vesty being
the strong candidate and then he gives his opinion, just a
random shout, he doesn't even claim it's based on any inside
info.
And it's Vesty, like he said.
It was a throwaway paragraph.

Nev or Vesty seem like they've had the most success at club
level in England over the last two or three seasons. However,
we've gone from being utterly ruthless in the opposition 22 (in
our league-winning season), to being pretty wasteful this
season.
Having said that, an attack coach is only one cog in the
coaching machine and I would think (having never coached) the
success of whoever gets the job would be massively dependent on
how the head coach and other coaches want to set the team up.
If the defence coach wants to organise the team for relentless
kick chasing from anywhere in our own half, then he's not going
to want the attack coach to be looking at keeping the ball in
hand unless territory is already massively in our favour - that
in turn reduces the backfield space and chances for someone like
Marcus to manipulate defenders and get wingers forward into the
line for kicks in behind or pin them back and work the edges.
Given Borthwick's former ties and how utterly dominant they have
been this season, I'm surprised he didn't just nab all the
Sarries coaching team (shame).

Vesty has the Tigers connection and I think NEv's approach is
very much based on the Quins "style" which is not likely to be
Borthwick's preferred gameplan. I also don't know how much NEv
wants to coach a team to play a more negative style of rugby...
I suspect the wastefulness is in part down to the lack of
carrying power and the lack of Marcus Smith for the majority of
the season!

On the plus side for Quins, it looks like Ford and Farrell will
be picked ahead of Smith

Flats and Shanks (specifically Flats) reckon Gleeson was well
respected by the players but held back by other coaches so he’s
being retained. Along with Cockerill.

Times article seems to say it could be only for 6 nations. I
couldn't read the whole article but that's what the opening
paras said

Confirmed.
Harlequins can confirm that Attack and Backs Coach Nick Evans
will link up with the England Rugby team during their 2023 Six
Nations campaign on a short-term contract.
With England’s Six Nations bye weeks falling on weekends of
Harlequins’ matches, Evans will return to club duty part-time
throughout the Six Nations campaign ahead of the Club’s matches
against Gloucester Rugby and Exeter Chiefs in the Gallagher
Premiership.
Evans will return to Harlequins full-time following the
conclusion of the 2023 Six Nations.
Commenting, Harlequins’ Director of Rugby Performance Billy
Millard said: “This is an amazing opportunity for Nick, where he
will learn and grow so much, which can only be good for the
Club. I am also confident he will provide Steve and the playing
group with excellent support and direction through the 2023 Six
Nations period.”
