OT/ Finn Russell to Bath - allegedly

L'equipe in France reporting Russell to Bath next season. Not
confirmed by the powers that be at the wreck!
Shame, I was hoping he was going to come and understudy Marcus,
as he tends to miss the odd international window. Wouldn't mind
Orlando Bailey coming our way. He's young and has the odd brain
fart but does play a similar game to what we put on the park
every week.
Barff building some major firepower for next season.

If this is true, then with their other signings, I feel that
Bath will be the only team able to stall the Saracens juggernaut
and win the Premiership next season.
Who agrees ?

Kinda depends who they’re losing to afford these acquisitions.
A back line of Spencer, Russell, Redpath, Lawrence is pretty
good. Especially with a back row of Hill, Underhill, Barbeary.

Bath on paper and Bath on the pitch have often been two very
different things over the past few years. I’m not sure playing
on the bog that is The Rec will suit Russel’s style as much as
playing at the cinema with a pitch adjacent. That said they’ve
picked up some cracking players so things look a bit more
positive than they did for them that’s for sure.

You make a fair point about the pitch at the wreck, it is a bit
of a pudding, something to do with the water table I presume?
Does also open up the discussion about salary cap again where
they're concerned, although Barbeary & Hill started on lower,
they will eventually expect more. And I can't believe Russell,
if true, will be less than £350k...

I believe that Bath have something like 20 odd out of contract
at the end of the season so there will probably be some space
coming from that.

More than that for Russell I’d guess but he’s heavily rumoured
to be becoming their marquee player.

They are welcome to him after that performance.

Bath must have come into some new Roman coin inheritance. Should
easily walk the top 4 next season
