No trains closer than Clapham, Wimbledon, Esher on Sunday 18/12

Having seen a screen grab someone posted from twitter of the big
game day, just had a look for this Sunday.
There aren't any trains near the Stoop - posted this as a reply
elsewhere but in case people are banking on the rail network
       working....it isn't.

You missed the closest station off your list... Surbiton (plus
the 281 bus runs from there to Twickenham).

Or live on the 281 bus route - Tolworth to Hounslow.

At some point "bespoke" has taken on an entirely new meaning.
It seems to have joined "modernised" in meaning worse.

That would work for me to get there, but heaven only knows how
long you'd have to wait to get one back after the game!
Also, what route would it actually take, given that Station to
Stadium - part of it's normal route - will be closed?

Normally they split the route in two. The half we use starts
opposite The Timberyard on London Road and goes to Surbiton. I
assume the other direction starts on Whitton/Warren road
       somewhere.
It might not be split into two; it might just make a large
Northerly diversion but I don't suppose that matters really.

The 281 runs normally on Stoop match days. It’s only when
there’s games at the Big Stoop it’s diverted.

Indeed. I keep forgetting which thread/game I'm posting on.
       😁
