No Announcement Until Friday - from the off site
Harlequins remain extremely grateful for our supporters'
patience as we seek to ensure we can guarantee the safety of all
our supporters during the delivery of our Big Game 14 event,
linked to the current RMT industrial action. The Club remains in
constant communication with key partners regarding the delivery
of this event on 27th December.
As our understanding is that dialogue remains active between the
principal rail stakeholders, the Club will delay our planned
update to supporters to Friday 16th December.
We’d like to thank everyone for their ongoing support, as we
continue to understand the frequently changing landscape related
to these strikes and their impact.

That's a good point. There may be an issue trying to move the
game to the Stoop. Will they be able to get enough staff on
short notice? While some of the core team are full time Quins
employees, all the concessions teams for food, drink, cleaning,
etc may not be able to get their staff at short notice (they
would've been expecting the day off). Hell, even the full-tome
regulars like the ground staff may already have other
commitments that are hard to break, based on planning around the
Racing game being the last one on the pitch until the Sale game
on the 6th.
They would also be affected by the transport difficulties as
well. While you it's easier to get away with a skeleton staff
for the Womens game currently, a full Stoop for the men's games
requires quite a lot of bodies both visible and behind the
scenes. Also, the food/drink plans that the concessions company
has wouldn't have included this match in their calendar. Would
they be able to get supplies in in time?

It is DEFINITELY not at the Big Stoop so why not just say so????

Because they will want to lay it all out in a single go, rather
than drip-feeding the developments out piecemeal over
hours/days. They'll want to know for certain if they're set up
to hold. the game at The Regular Stoop & have the go ahead from
the council, policing and PRL/RFU, along with the points I
raised in the post before yours. Secondly, assuming it does move
over the A316, they will need to have worked out what they can
do regarding ticketing. Do they just allow STHs in? What are
they proposing for refunds, exchange for the March game, etc.
.While they may not answer all the questions (particularly the
last one) they will need to have most of them clear before they
say what's happening.

Also, if they can't agree to have it at the Big Stoop and can't
negotiate a postponement, then it may end up being played at the
Stoop behind closed doors.
