       I'm torn.
I am massively impacted by strikes on the 16th due to having a
trip away booked. To get around things I've had to pay out an
extra £130 or so as a plan B option, including forcing me to
book an extra day off work to get around things.
I understand why they are striking, as who wouldn't want job
security, stop closures and a pay rise. I have less sympathy for
the pay aspect because I would love their average salary! The
impact particularly the last weekend before Christmas will be
devastating for a lot of people, from local businesses to
friends/family reuniting. For many this is the firsts festive
period since Covid to enjoy time together and I feel sorry for
       everyone effected.
I hope a realistic but non insulting offer is made, and its
       accepted, for everyone sake.

If the salary is £31k, what are the earnings?

       . . . and furthermore - I want a job for life
. . . and to retire at 60ish (rather than my company stipulated
       70ish)
       . . . and have a final salary pension
Thing will change when I become President!

Trains won’t be in the right location
It will be challenging to say the least getting there if not
       driving
Looks like they all fancy a longer Christmas break

Not blinking likely. [Admin - I hope than blinking doesn't
       trigger the alarms.]
Cos - then I would be in the same boat as my team mates who work
in our European locations who are covered by unions.

I think, as someone pointed out, you could have expected some
disruption after the Xmas period even if the strikes were called
off. Even when the strikes were on, trains ran on the Waterloo,
Kingston, Twickenham loop quite happily. So it's very hard to
predict exactly what the impact will be.

The strike means no engineering works over xmas. Previously over
running engineering works have been a cause of problems.

I like how points 1 and 3 are mutually exclusive..."i want a pay
rise in line with inflation but if inflation is low or negative
(as some analysts predict next year) then forget point 1"
