But they won’t . Rugby financially is on its knees and tbh
cannot afford to run a full time female team , especially if
they are struggling to run the default team

England might be the best team and provide most of the players
for a Lions squad but there are plenty of players in the other
countries that would be good enough. They just don’t have the
high numbers of quality individuals that England does. It’s no
good people being negative (usual suspects) , if you don’t ever
start you’ll never know what could grow from a tour.
Womens rugby is growing and the quality is increasing and
it would be a big boost for rugby here and around the world. As
long as the tour is treated as a celebration and exhibition of
the sport and not a win at all costs conservative borefest that
the mens has become, I can only see it being successful if not
hugely profitable. Profit should not always be the bottom line.
If it can break even and promote the sport around the world
maybe there could be higher revenues as popularity increases.
The only downside of a Womens Lions tour is that I
probably will never be able to attend a game as Lions very
rarely play at home.

Actually, given the economics of women's rugby, I'd not be
surprised if they played a pre-tour warm up game against France
at Twickenham to generate interest and boost revenues.

That's ok, it'll probably be Gatland and they'll all be welsh!
Re not being an entrée to the men, you have to start somewhere
so having a few hundred travel to the States/Canada when there's
not a lot of local support and a 2/3rds empty stadium as opposed
to getting a few thousand on a Tuesday night in Sydney,
Wellington or Cape Town at least helps build it and make it
viable.

We are, timing and travel permitting. Hard not to when you have
two rugby playing daughters, one of whom will only watch women's
rugby, and one of whom is county level today and could go
further if we could find a way to motivate her to train
properly.

Excellent work. The closest I got was producing a daughter who
played Flag Footy at International level.

Would go and see Lions if they played in the UK. Yes it would be
England dominated today, but you pick the best from the other
unions and it would be a great team.
As for the Quins women at BG14, I will be there to cheer them on
as I did last weekend and this weekend. And bonus is I got
parking for this BG so will be an easy drive to get there for
women's game and men's game after
