sacrifices the WC, so be it. With the decent crop of youngsters
we have, we can afford to wait for 2027 & 2031 to win the World
Cup.

What’s the benefit?
If he’s sacked, the RFU have to pay him off. If we’re writing
off 2023, there’s no gain in the next 12 months.
Eddie’s then gone regardless.
The planning for his replacement can happen whether Eddie is
there or not. In fact, given we know he’s going, that planning
should already be at a fairly advanced stage.

South Africa did this and ended up winning the World Cup with
the new coach bounce.

Or could there be a panel of "senior farts" (sorry Will C) who
can be named, who canvas the views of those coaches/players etc,
including those who could be impacted by EJ. If there is a real
cause for concern that the evidence could impact the witness'
career they have anonymity, if not it is their choice to sign
the statement or not. At least that way there would be some
level of visibility.
Sadly I expect it will be hunker down and do nothing!

It saddens Me to say this but I would like the RFU to replace
Eddie.....It's just not working, so a change is needed and now
is the time. There's plenty of money in the pot, the eyewatering
ticket prices at Twickenham should cover any payoff quite
comfortably.
There is constant talk of "preparing for the world cup", but
what about the 6 nations, and to some extent the Autumns in
between , I'm reluctant to buy tickets at the current pricing
structure to watch an "experimental" team/tactics.....every
match at International level, the best team should be selected,
with the best player for their position on the pitch.

For me the benefit is who ever takes over gets a free shot at a
World Cup. They could win or like Eddies team they might not but
that RWC experience will be vital for the one 4 years later when
expectations will be high.
We have nothing to gain by keeping Eddie - Time to be bold
worked for the Boks and worked for Quins.

I think the RFU will get rid of Eddie if ticket sales plummet as
the money is more important.

I personally don't think fans will stop going to HQ. Even after
the last few 6 nations and this AI series nearly 82k still
rocked up to watch the inevitable slaughter.
Perhaps some form of scandal or embarrassing news story might do
the trick. The way EJ is running things I wouldn't be surprised
if Hes a double agent for some nation to ensure we are one less
threat at the WC

Well I had tickets to 3 of the 4 AIs. They weren't wasted
because I got to see England play the All Blacks, I went to the
first one with 3 good friends and to the last with good friend
I haven't seen in ages, but I really doubt I'll bother with the
England games before the world cup.
Instead go for All Blacks v Springboks Friday August 25th, 2023
Twickenham. Available now (selling fast) on Ticketmaster.

Selling fast, are they?
£171.85 for a seat in the West Lower.
Do you know what? I don't think I will bother.
