Eddie Jones' position must be under threat

I would like to think the RFU might fire Eddie Jones, but that
would be to admit they ignored warning signs over the last few
years. I can't see it happening.

It's refreshing to see a lot of articles now all spelling out
the obvious. Sadly, the RFU are so outdated in their approach to
things I highly doubt they have access to the internet yet to
read them, so EJ will still be here as they are probably
watching VHS tapes from 2003.

Greater chance of getting rid of Eddie than there has been up to
this point, but still not that big a chance in the scheme of
things.
Given the backing and funding the team have, there is no excuse
not to compete with the best on results consistently, regardless
of what plan he has or doesn’t have under wraps for the World
Cup.

Disgraceful that other than Sweeney, the RFU CEO, they’re not
revealing the identities of those on the panel selected to
review EJ’s performance.

I think on balance I'd rather they were anonymous. That way you
can include coaches, players, pretty much anyone whose careers
might be impacted by briefing against him.

If the offer would have been there to buy an extra pint each at
both the NZ and Bok game, there was the money to pay him off and
move on.
My only worry is they will panic and choose who is available,
rather than having a proper plan. Sack, interim, pause for
thought appoint a coach in the right time frame and if that
sacrifices the WC, so be it. With the decent crop of youngsters
we have, we can afford to wait for 2027 & 2031 to win the World
Cup.
