Team vs Barbarians

Head Coach Tabai Matson and his coaching team have named the
matchday squad to host the Barbarians under the lights on
Thursday evening.
Joe Marler and Joe Marchant return from their time with the
famous touring side as they claimed victory over an All Blacks
XV last Sunday to don the Famous Quarters against the Baabaas
this week, with Marler named on the bench as Marchant starts at
outside centre.
Number eight Alex Dombrandt leads the side alongside familiar
partners Jack Kenningham and Will Evans in the backrow. There
are two changes to the forward unit that beat London Irish in
the Gallagher Premiership last time out, with Academy products
Fin Baxter and George Head earning starts in the front row.
In the backline, Club stalwart Danny Care is joined in the
halfback department by former England Sevens man Will Edwards,
with a centre partnership of Lennox Anyanwu and Joe Marchant
outside them.
In the back three, Ross Chisholm claims the 15 jersey, joined by
Academy graduate Oscar Beard on the right wing and recent
signing Josh Bassett on the left.
Amongst the Impact Players, hooker Jack Walker returns to
fitness since injuring his shoulder against Exeter Chiefs
earlier this season, while Academy centre Hayden Hyde also
returns to fitness following injury.
Head Coach Tabai Matson said: "The Barbarians are iconic. If you
think of fantasy football, you think of the Barbarians and
Quins. I went to the Barbarians' game on Sunday and what you see
there are players who are free and willing to experiment and do
unconventional things. They’re a team who have probably beaten
all the top teams in the world, we’ve been talking all week
about really enjoying the opportunity and the experience.
"It’s brilliant, it really is. You’ve got two teams with an
absolute mindset to entertain and to try things. One thing
you’ll definitely see on Thursday is some unconventional plays
that you might not use against one of the top teams in the
Premiership."

Odd it dosen't reflect Gareth Simpson is now with
Saracens...another good signing thats sadly passed us by..Will
be suprised if they don't extend his 2 week loan but I'd happily
take him!.

Glad to see Hyde is fit. Looked like he had a nasty injury and
was expecting him out much longer.

I can't believe anyone has not mention Jack Walker being back.
He is a great player and our best hooker by a good margin. The
young lads will push him in time but this is a first pick at the
moment and I think we will see the difference he brings around
the field.
