Smith is really playing himself out of contention and Farrell is
awful too

I personally don’t think we will see the Smith we know turn up
in an England shirt, at least while EJ is there. Faz is too much
of a dominant character to give up the role he has meaning
Marcus has little influence on things to show what he can do.
Wins a win and our line speed was much better. Will we scare the
top nations? Remains to be seen

Wonder if it might be what is picked up by the mic, at the front
of the stand there seemed to be a generally decent amount of
noise ,although not a concerted whole stadium chant like you get
at the Stoop.

I know Jones and the pundits keep explaining the Farrell/Smith
combination but I still don`t get it. Farrell basically played
the majority of the game at 10 so why not just pick him there
and play a proper inside centre at 12.

Have to agree, just leave Smith out. Farrell takes the kick
offs, place kicks, kicks for touch, steps into first receiver.
Leave Smith at Quins and wait till Eddie pootles off after our
QF exit next year.

Being there today it was even clearer that Farrell / Marcus
isn't going to work, you get a much better picture of how
Farrell bssically operates at 10 and totally agree with earlier
posts, EJ should just pick his captain and have marcus on the
bench. Hopefully whoever replaces Jones will play a style that
embraces the strengths we know Marcus has.

I saw England play the All Blacks from a corporate box a few
years back. I think it opened at 12 and shut at 6. By the time
the game started at 3 we were completely larraped. Despite all
being "rugby folk" I'm afraid we rather resorted to corporate
behaviour. 🙂

Ours was open for a similar amount of time - but, I think
everyone was mostly well behaved.
But - we were all "normal" types from work rather than people
who were on a corporate jolly.
Eg. Nearly everyone went outside to watch the 2nd half
(basically, there weren't enough seats for everyone outside).
I did drink my fill of Guinness though.
Whereas, a few years ago I was in a different box for a 6
nations match with other people who were on a corporate jolly.
By the 2nd half, I was the only person outside watching the
match. Everyone else was inside drinking wine and watching
football on the telly.
But - I still think that it is more fun to go and sit with the
regular punters and enjoy the other entertainment around the
stadium.
