"In the running?" They should just give him Try of the Season
right now and have done with it.
The expression on Luke Pearce's face when he asked the TMO to
check the grounding says it all. Though it has to be said that
none of the TV angles I've seen so far did justice to how
majestic it looked in the stadium.

Anyone know why Pearce was keen to confirm as to whether the
ball had crossed the tryline - what's the law here?

Is that what he said ? , I thought he was just checking if JM
was behind the kicker when he started his run..

I was wondering about this earlier, I can only think he means
crossing the line between the posts, if it had then the penalty
would have been given.
Any one remember this?

Fursty , Ive just listened to the replay and he does ask if it
crossed the line , which is a strange question really as the
ball is still alive until grounded by a Sarries player or goes
over the dead ball line , so it would still have been a try if
Marchant had caught it in goal , providing he was behind the
kicker when he started to run
I can only presume he was asking if the ball had gone between
the posts and crossed the line there and therefore the penalty
was actually scored ( as per Adrian B's excellent example
above), either that , or more likely he was buying a bit of time
while he got his head round what had happened !
