It'll take some working out, but I can see the reasoning.
There's a number of weeks where there's only 4 games scheduled,
meaning 3 teams are on rest weeks. There's a few games that
won't be moved (BSKO and the Sarries game at Spurs stadium), but
if they can move some of the games scheduled during the 6
nations to make more w/es outside of the 6N where 5 matches are
played rather than 4, that's a win-win. Clubs get to use their
international players more & can use the 6N time to manage
player workloads, fans can concentrate on one or other
competition (International or Club) at a time.

Apparently there was a meeting to discuss this a few weeks ago.
As normal the clubs could not agree.

Changes to the fixture calendar confirmed.

GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE CHANGES CONFIRMED
Premiership Rugby has today confirmed changes to the 2022/23
season’s fixture schedule following the withdrawal of Worcester
Warriors and Wasps from the league.
Changes have been made to fixtures post-Christmas from Round 15
onwards. There are no fixture changes before Big Game 14 and the
team’s New Year’s Day fixture away to Northampton Saints.
Following consultation with all clubs, the schedule changes
reduce clashes of Gallagher Premiership and Six Nations games,
with now no clash of Harlequins Home matches when England play
their Home Six Nations fixtures.
Premiership Cup semi-final and final dates will now take place
on the weekends of 10-12 February and 17-19 March.
The schedule change will also see the final Stoop match of the
season come during round 22 as the Club hosts Newcastle Falcons
in mid-April.
There are no changes to Champions Cup fixtures.
Fixture dates and kick-off times for rounds 17 and onwards will
be announced in the coming weeks by Premiership Rugby.

An improvement of sorts I guess: only two matches during the six
nations period rather than four (plus the cancelled Worcester
game).
Actually, I think there are three. I suspect the Gloucester game
is 17-19 Feb not Jan as it says.

I can't see the last day of the season (round 24) being on
Saturday 6th May as that's the coronation day. Surely they will
all play on Sunday 7th?
