Jack Nowell stating the obvious needing to cut down on the
penalty count.
Interesting that one of the common denominators in the
references to poor games is the person spouting off. Whilst he
obviously isn't to blame for all our woes in the backs, he
should really reflect on the fact his best contribution in an
England shirt for the last few years is when he was an honorary
forward.

Against South Africa last Autumn, when Farrell was nowhere to be
seen and Smithy was calling the shots at 10 and actually allowed
to play some rugby. Joe Marchant also did pretty well in the
centres after Tuilagi went off early.

Can anyone actually point e to a game where England were up
against it and that 'exceptional' leader Farrell actually pulled
us up by our bootstraps and we turned the game around?
He may have read all the books or attended all the seminars but
he can't seem to have that impact on the players around him

Forgot about that one to be fair, good call. Shame it was just a
one off

He is seemingly still in credit for making a simple pass in the
build-up to Elliott Daly's last minute try against Wales in 2017
and a tryline, borderline high-shot on Andre vs SA the year
after. Despite what S Jones may say, his goal-kicking % is not
stellar and I can't think of (m)any games where he has dragged
us out of the fire. If anything, what stands out (given he has
been captain a fair bit) is his inability to influence or change
tactics during a game on the pitch.

He's the opposite of what you want as a captain, certainly on
field anyway. I'm pretty sure it was the last 6 nations he
clearly lost it (vs Scotland?)and was pretty much arguing with
the ref and was akin to something you'd see in football.

Agreed. This time last year he was having a mare off the tee,
but lacked the Captaincy skills to say to Ford and/or Daley (who
were both on the pitch with him at the time) "I'm having an off
day, you take the next pen kick at posts". THAT would have been
leadership.

It's Ben Earl fever. In some cases seeming to invlove
celebrating in the oppo's face when your prop has his boots on
the correct feet.

That's not actually what this is about, although that screaming
stuff is equally offensive.

If I was an opposition player I'd want to punch him in the face
if he did it to me. I get that we're long passed the days of a
polite hand clap but the "celebrations" seem very OTT and
offensive these days. Maybe a pat on the back or a man hug from
those close to the scorer for a try or a cheer and clap for a
shot at posts, but I don't see the reason for a player to run
halfway across the pitch to "celebrate " with their mates.
