For the big things celebrate absolutely. Personally it felt a
bit tedious and I was probably most frustrated that the sprint
to pat Genge on the back was the most running the backs did.

I can see how that would really pump Genge up - in some cases
I'm all for the kind of mass celebration of a player's actions.
It's when they're really forced and clearly intended to wind the
oppo up / buy into some sort of artificial 'teammateship' that
it grates.
i.e. it should be sponteneous and it should be relevant and
sometimes it's genuinely a way to get more out of a player

So what are the big things? As ever with rugby, we're talking
about a subjective view

Dominant scrums leading to free kicks/pens, tries, that sort of
thing. I’m not against celebrating that as it all helps, just
felt it was slightly a bit exaggerated.

Making a ruck slightly quicker is a big deal though, the top
test teams at the moment are all trying to find ways to generate
quicker ruck ball. I agree that obviously an offload that puts
an attacker into space is better than one that leads to quicker
ruck ball, but it's tough to underestimate the impact of
generating <2s rucks, and offloading is a tool that England used
well to those ends.
Fair point, "changing the point of contact" wasn't a very good
way of expressing what I meant. I guess a better way to put it
would be changing the point of focus of an attack - basically
the defenders are expecting a ruck and start to get back onside
and prepare for the next phase, when the offload is made and all
of a sudden you have a forward charging at you.

arrives in the form of May who has no real form or fitness to
speak of right now.

Feel for Cadan as he’s been the form English winger for some
time now. I’m having trouble understanding how Eddie has viewed
the performance against Argentina and decided a player like Guy
Porter is what will fix it.

Can anyone remember the last time they enjoyed watching England
play, or where we looked a good side for the majority of the
game? We are going back to 2019 for that…
