Interesting stuff. No great revelations but suggests the club is
on a pretty solid footing. It's clear that the Big Stoop games
are really important to the financial position.

Yup. It's been said before that at 50k tickets Twickenham makes
them as much money as a regular Stoop game, but every ticket
beyond that is essentially pure profit - probably about £1m per
game based on a near sellout and average ticket price of £30.
It looks like the club's pre-COVID turnover was around £25m pa
(which dropped to less than £10m during the pandemic) and P&L
has historically been around £300-500k loss per year - so the
extra £2m from BG and BSKO are a massive swing factor in Quins'
finances.
It also sounds like the ticket resale option is important to
them - as an STH you get a bit back, but the club can then
resell at full price so they make a larger margin on it. I've
been a bit lax about taking advantage of it in the past - but it
emphasises that if we want to help the club we should use that
when we can't make it to a game.

Also feels like he is preparing us for Marchant leaving though.
So hope not.

Potentially - though Danny seemed to be suggesting Tommy Allan
is likely to be off on the BBC podcast, so may be in ref to that
too. Apparently we went hard in for C Atkinson, but that he
didn't want to play second fiddle to Marcus.
Realistically Allan + Lewies gone would more than cover March if
it's about money. Would expect a few squad players gone too
(Stafford, Chis Sr, Morris, Taulani etc) so it may just be him
suggesting that anyone that can be replaced by someone in the
academy most likely will be.

Interesting that ticket resale gives the club £500k

Allan off wouldn't be a killer blow. Edwards and Benson under
the coaching of Nick have good potential.
I expect a lot to move on in Summer so hopefully this frees up
the money for Marchant.
Ross Snr/Morris can be replaced by Beard and Cassius
Stafford/Steele/Gjaltema could all potentially leave but would
be more of a headache to replace, but with DC staying for
another year it takes a bit of pressure off to sign a polished
article ready to go for the new season, and instead a younger
talent.
Laurie is a sensible smart man though so I think we are in as
safe hands as we could be compared to when David Ellis was here

Re the SHs mentioned. I think in his very brief appearances,
Murray has looked more lively than any of them!!
