Don’t be surprised if David’s tackling masterclass means Allan
reverts back to 15 and Edwards starts at 10. I think Bassett
needs a few games to learn our calls etc but let’s be Frank he
wasn’t amazing on Saturday.

I think you need to give Josh a break. According to D.Tel this
morning he is building a new house in Birmingham and kids in
school there, eldest just started Secondary. He is living in
hotel next to training ground commuting home when no training.
Family down last week for pumpkin family day for squad and
stayed down for match running around in Quins kit. Can’t be
easy.

I think you are hoping for a bit much.
From the history of his posts, MQ doesn't have a good work to
say about anybody in the team.
The only players that he seems to like are players who don't
actually play for Quins or, are academy players with little
experience -
Example 1. Beard + Edwards get talked up. However, I assume that
he turns on them as soon as they get picked to.
Example 2. Bin Chis and sign Ted Hill, etc, etc.
MQ - am I wrong?

The emotional impact on wasps and worcs players shouldn't be
ignored. Jack Willis talked about waking up in tears etc.

They've said that they're working with the players from both
clubs to see what can be done regarding finding new contracts,
moving overseas, etc. It's doing what it can, but there's limits
to what can be achieved given seasons are underway already in
the Northern Hemisphere. I would guess that the younger players
might be looking at the Southern Hemisphere clubs as an option,
as that starts in a few months and teams may be looking to
bolster their wider squads ahead of the RWC.

My comments during the Sale performance were actually very
positive by my standards so I wouldn't agree I dislike everyone.
I think we have plenty of very good players and the two you
mentioned I do like and won't be surprised if either starts for
the Glaws game. I imagine Tommy will be back at 15 allowing
Edwards to play 10 which will be good to watch as I think he
runs the backs very well. If I was massively all doom and gloom,
you wouldn't even get those comments.
The Chis debate might be unpopular, but my comments questioning
if it's smart to depend on a player with a poor injury record
appear do have some credibility, and I think if we had the
straight choice between Ted or James, Ted would probably be the
smarter pick.
In general the players I have criticized most would see where I
am coming from, albeit it not liking it's delivery - which is
fair enough.

What were people's criticisms of Tommy Allen? From what I saw
our biggest problem in attack was that a) we bombed a couple of
tries, one of which was his fault and one was Andre's, and b)
Irish did a great job of hammering our big ball carriers like
Andre, Louw, Dombrandt, etc.
In general I was happy with how we were trying to attack, I
thought Lennox had excellent impact with ball in hand, and there
were just too many instances of players throwing poor
passes/offloads (e.g. Dombrandt a couple of times, Lennox once),
dropping the ball under pressure from big defence, and giving
away silly breakdown penalties. It didn't seem immediately
obvious to me that the problem was at 10. Particularly given
he's barely played for us recently.
Sometimes you have to give credit to a huge defensive
performance, y'know?

I thought that he was average during the 1st half - but improved
as the game went on.
Which I guess makes sense as he has had little game time at 10
for a while.
Also, it is easy for a #10 to shine if he is behind a dominant
pack. The pack started to get dominance in the second half (in
fact, I can't understand why LI weren't yollow carded during the
scrum where we almost pushed over the line).
I thought that Lenny looked good at #13 (except from the blip
you mentioned).It is quite handy to have a centre who can play
at #12 or #13.
