CMK was on the spot and didn't see anything amiss with it, on a
day when he spotted a lot and called it all pretty well.
What I thought from the replay was that Matthews was already
committed to the jump at the point van Rensburg went up, and
would have been in a position to catch the ball.

Doesn't matter, he tackled him in the air. Was a shocker of a
miss. But then Loader should've been penalised for something
similar, Simmons should've had red, etc.
Hugely aggravating for Irish fans and I don't think their team
deserved to lose that. But I'm glad we won.

I don’t think it was a ‘shocker’. As you say it was pretty
similar to Loader’s challenge on David. If one is OK, so is the
other. Both indirectly led to tries, so it’s an even complaint
as far as I’m concerned. On balance, you could probably argue
neither should have stood, but it’s either neither or both.

I don’t ‘blame’ the admin as such, but by allowing a situation
to fester where wind up merchants can operate with impunity and
then cry foul when someone bites back, they’re part of the
problem.

They weren't the same. Matthews was far more clearly a penalty
and probably a card.

Just watched the end. I think we can stop complaining about the
Exeter game now as we've more than got one back in our favour.
I'd be very unhappy if I was an Irish fan. But I'm not, so I'm
pleased. Doesn't mask another poor performance though. We really
need to step up a few levels

Loader came away from the aerial contest with the ball. Matthews
didn't as Rensburg had secured it before he got there. So no,
not the same at all. Just sayin'.

Fair enough - I haven't studied the replay. I know it looked bad
at the time but that isn't necessarily relevant. Didn't see the
Loader and Simmons incidents.

Yup, I'd continue to knock the Admin if I were you.
The fact is your and Fatquin's reactions and moaning was far
more irritating than a couple of comments that you could have
easily ignored. As everyone else did.
