Italian international Tommy Allan returns to the starting XV for
Harlequins this week as the team travel away to Sale Sharks for
Round Seven of the Gallagher Premiership campaign.
The fly-half earns a rare start alongside fellow playmaker
Marcus Smith. Smith retains his usual spot in the ten jersey,
with Allan replacing injured fullback Tyrone Green at 15.
There is one further change to the starting XV from the side
that faced Leicester Tigers last time out. With centre Luke
Northmore sidelined with injury, Joe Marchant starts at outside
centre, with Nick David returning to the starting team on the
right wing.
Amongst the Impact Players, centre Lennox Anyanwu will look to
make his first appearance since putting in a Player of the Match
performance against Northampton Saints in Round Four of the
Gallagher Premiership.
One final change to the Impact Players sees Former England
Sevens man Will Edwards don the 22 jersey, having last featured
for Quins as he scored two dramatic late tries against the
Saints in the Premiership Cup.
Commenting, Head Coach Tabai Matson said: "It's an opportunity
and we have to get back on track. Even if they're our bogey team
according to the numbers, we've got a great opportunity to get
our campaign back on track and go out there and play well.
"Sale are now a massive challenge and the good thing is that's
what you usually need after a big defeat. A lot of the stuff we
didn't get right against Leicester, we have to get right against
Sale.
"It's enjoyable watching teams try and force their style on each
other and Sale will be looking to assert their speed of game on
us as they did against London Irish."

Why on earth are we still persisting with White at 8. He has
been so anonymous and should be nowhere near the field. Offers
nothing and impact the performance of Kenningham and Evans who
have to get through double the work to lessen the impact.

Backrow is shoddy and will be exposed, again. Evans and
Kenningham are good players, but Jack isn't right for 6, but
we've known that for a while and still persist. White is about
as effective as an ashtray on a motorbike.
Backs we also can't do too much about, but the personnel changes
are less of an issue compared to the forwards.
Another classic poor performance coming up. I'd like to think we
won't play as bad as last week again, but I haven't seen
anything this season to suggest we are a team who can beat well
drilled and structured teams.

Last week we were dreadful and the scoreline flattered at the
end. The game is decided by very fine margins, and when we have
lost some games IE Sarries and Exeter... whilst unlucky, we
still ultimately lost because we couldn't manage a game for more
than a half at a time.
Matson says the right things, but whether he is able to getting
this team to be more street smart is another thing. We need to
drop this need to be the entertainers at the expense of managing
games properly. I think the main thing we need to solve is a
proper 6 who isn't a sicknote. Having a proper leader will also
make a big difference. Whilst I like Joe, he isn't a captain in
my view.

Smith. He's missed one all season I think?
Not sure how much experience he has at fullback. Sale are right
up there with Tigers and Sarries in terms of how good their
kicking game is.

I've said elsewhere that for games between Quins and Sale, I
always assume the home team will win so I'll stick with that
philosophy for this match. However, much as we have improved our
attack, you guys are able to score from anywhere (Care's try
last week being a great example) and have the pace/guile that
can outflank us. Our defence needs to be absolutely on point.
On paper, the teams are overall pretty even. I threw together a
combined 23 and by fluke ended up with 11 from each team
(couldn't choose between Gjaltema and Warr). Our 4-8 (plus 19 &
20) possibly shades it (60 minutes of dealing with Ross, Curry
and DdP only to see Jean-Luc come off the bench doesn't sound
fun); your 9-10-12-13 probably has that extra couple of percent.
Let's just hope for a great game with a massive FTA viewership
