FOTS posted front cover of todays TRP saying Wasps and Irish may
merge
That would be a weird one, but would imagine that they would
then be called what?

It's tricky. A hybrid name could alienate both sets of fans.
Pick one and you lose the other lot.
How many Richmond and London Scottish fans still support Irish,
if any ever did?

The limiting factor with Irish is their name. Why would you
support them if you have no Irish connections. Same with Welsh
and Scottish. However, if you remove Irish from the name you
would probably lose a few thousand supporters. Then Wasps
supporters won’t like losing their name either. I’m not sure it
would work.

Ridiculous idea.
Might as well just rebrand as a completely new team all together
like the London Cowboys or something very American Franchise
like.
My preference would be the London Nomads considering how often
they both move home

I believe Irish dropped the Scottish and Richmond badges from
the shirt in 2014.
If Wasps were to merge, and I am not sure what it would achieve,
there is always the club they split from.
We could have a black and gold third shirt for a season - it
would not be any worse than some - and then forget about it.

Could have the start of Wasps and end of Irish = Wash. End up
with Bath Vs Wash as a derby.
