Agreed. Tigers probably got a couple of generous calls, but that
often happens when one side is clearly dominating.
Overall, I think we’ve had what I’d describe as a disjointed
season so far. We’ve been missing key players throughout and
having an early bye week and the cancellation of the Worcester
game mean we’ve struggled to build any form or momentum.
A week off can sometimes be a good thing, but I feel like we’re
a side who needs to play to get in to our groove. To have that
twice in the opening rounds has hurt us IMO.
Today, we were second best in pretty much every department.
Tigers came in to this game with a point to prove and they
definitely did that.
On us looking like a ‘6th-8th place side’. I think that’s harsh
given all of our games so far have been against top 6
contenders. With the exception of Saracens and possibly Tigers
(if they can maintain today’s performance level), all of our
competitors are equally fallible and inconsistent. Sale are
getting there and have a strong squad that will only get better
when Ford is back. I’d put us in the same bracket as Exeter,
Gloucester and Saints. Mostly pretty good but some average
performances and the occasional stinker in there.

Today’s performance lacked energy and any evidence of employment
of brain cells. I wonder what our penalty count was….we gifted
them so much we didn’t deserve to get anywhere near winning. I
absolve Cadan from any responsibility; he was magnificent

I thought Green was very good prior to going off injured too. It
looked like a bad ankle injury, but I hope I’m wrong.

Tigers did a job on us today, they looked very up for it. I
think we lost that in the forwards where we were second best and
lighter weight. Too many errors in good attacking situations
didn’t help and kicking away possession. I did have to count how
many players they had a couple of times as there seemed to be no
holes in their defensive line. Haven’t watched a replay yet but
there did seem to be a lot of disgruntlement from the crowd
about a few decisions.
Whingers just remember how lucky we are that we aren’t
Wasps or Worcester supporters.

We were poor but was it me or did Leicester have an injury every
or almost every time we made any headway, followed by all manner
of their staff coming on the pitch? They killed our momentum
that way, frustrating the players and us in the crowd.

Watching it live that seems that's very generous. I don't like
to bash officiating teams, but it did seem like that there were
a couple of significant decisions which went against us:
1. A veary clear and obvious forward pass for their try
2. Jasper "no arms" Wiese striking yet again and taking Green
out
I'm not saying Quins deserved to win because we didn't, and
forward passes happen, but number 2 seemed pretty egregious....
Not seen the highlights and I may well be wrong, but hopefully
gives a feeling for the mood in Stoop at the time

It looked really bad. He was walked off and was unable to bear
that right (I think) foot being anywhere near the ground for
fear of a lot of pain.
He collapsed on it before he was taken off.

I thought the refereeing was at best woefully inconsistent,
particularly his interpretation of Law 16.14. The law says five
seconds and then its unplayable. Have a look at Leicester's
second try. I had the ref link on in the ground and I counted
at least ten seconds between him shouting once and it coming
out. Similarly his delay between the crouch and bind commands
were way too long in my view. I accept that this stuff didn't
make much difference to the result (we deserved to lose) but
today, Leal was a good advert for asking refs to do at least 100
games in the champ before they do Prem games. I know some
people will think this is an overreaction, but think about it.
The best refs we have in the premiership are the most
experienced. This fixture was not one to to try a relatively
inexperienced ref out on, in my view.
